"Step To It"

Each of us are confronted with formidable challenges, which can seem like giants, in our lives. These may manifest as health-related, financial, or family issues. However, as believers in Jesus Christ, we are empowered to confront these giants with unwavering faith, walking under the protective and secure umbrella of God's covenant. This covenant is not just a promise but a guarantee of God's protection over us, ensuring we are never alone in our battles. Senior Pastor Travis Tullis leads us to understand that we must change how we see our giants by having faith to "Step to It" through the scriptures 1 Samuel 16:7, 17:23-37, 17:47, and John 2:23-24. With God by our side, we can conquer these giants and emerge victorious in Christ Jesus. This victory is not just a possibility, but a certainty when we walk in faith. However, we sometimes stray from the path of God's covenant when we rely on our own understanding, swayed by the visible challenges before us. As 2 Corinthians 4:18 reminds us, 'While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.' Under God's covenant, we are shielded by His protection; this is one of the many benefits of being covered by the Lord. We can accept God's assignments and appointments if we take a step towards faith when dealing with our giants; the heavens will open to us with God's glory. "Surviving the Test of Time"

July 14, 2024 • Elder Kevin Barker • Matthew 7:24–29

When we stay on course to "Survive the Test of Time,” we can become joint heirs with Christ Jesus. Elder Kevin Barker Sr. encourages us to not give up through our trials and tribulations; we will not be defeated if we stay the course because of our solid rock foundation in Jesus Christ. This foundation is embodied in the scriptures Matthew 7:24-29, which teaches us the importance of building our lives on the teachings of Jesus. Even in our darkest moments, God's grace fills our lives with more purpose, encouraging us to persevere. As we navigate the test of time, our praise and worship, with its transformative and spiritual power, can turn our midnights into daylight. With God's unwavering mercy, we can weather any storm if we stand firm and unmovable. As we position ourselves to keep pouring God's word into our hearts and into our communities, we must utilize the overflow of blessings He provides and press on to survive our test of time. Reflecting on Priest Lake Community Baptist Church's 43rd anniversary, we see how, with Jesus Christ as our foundation, “we can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth us.” Thank you, Elder Barker, for delivering this strong message from God. This reminds us that we are more than conquerors, when we endure the test of time.

"Freedom In The Kingdom"

Our history celebrates freedom on July 4th and Juneteenth, which are the most recent celebrations of liberty for our country. But when we celebrate “Freedom in Jesus’s Kingdom,” there is liberty for all God’s people. Senior Pastor Travis Tullis guides us on understanding and embracing freedom in God’s Kingdom through the scriptures Nehemiah 4:14, Ephesians 6:12, Galatians 5:13-26, and John 1:12. As believers, we have been liberated from the unholy things that separates us from God through the blood of Jesus Christ. Yet, we find ourselves in the midst of a culture war because God’s Word is no longer being taught so we are not being reminded that God has given us a way to be set free. As Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” In the freedom of the Kingdom of God, we must fight for our right to enjoy walking in power, peace, hope, love, and the sense of safety that comes with knowing that we are aligned with the Lord. This freedom, however, comes with a sacred responsibility. As Christians, one of our greatest assignments is to love one another, to support and uplift each other in Christ Jesus. Thank you, Senior Pastor Tullis, for leading us forward and higher together, guiding us towards a deeper understanding of the freedom that comes with serving God in His Kingdom.

"What Are You Building On The Foundation"

June 30, 2024 • Pastor Derrek Kegler • Luke 6:44–49, 1 Corinthians 3:10–17

Do we carefully consider what we are building on the foundation made by Christ? In a world filled with information, it's crucial to discern if it's aligned with the word of God, the foundation of Jesus Christ, or if it is like Spam, useless in the Kingdom of God. This discernment is key in our efforts to advance the Kingdom. Pastor Derrek Kegler, in his message, through 1 Corinthians 3:10-17 and Luke 6:44-49, reminds us that our spiritual house, with Jesus as our solid rock, is indestructible. When we continue to build on the foundation that Jesus laid out for us, it will cost us time. This is precious to us because we don't get time back. The time we sacrifice to advance the Kingdom of God on earth is like gold, silver, and precious stones. With this, we can have a spiritual house where people can come and receive the things of God that they need. We must exercise discernment in how we invest in our foundation with Jesus Christ, so we do not invest in temporary things. This discernment is our shield against the storms of life. Thank you, Pastor Kegler, for delivering this strong message from God. This will lead us forward and higher together as we continue to build on the solid foundation of God's Kingdom.

"God Is Building A Spiritual House"

June 23, 2024 • Elder Charlie Davidson • Matthew 16:15–18, 1 Peter 2:4–9

Jesus spoke of himself as a builder, the foundation on which the church would be built. This means that the church is not just a building but a living, breathing entity. Elder Charlie Davidson, in his message, through Matthew 16:15-18 and 1 Peter 2:4-9, reminds us that Jesus is not just a part of our spiritual house but the cornerstone on which it stands. God is actively building a spiritual house, and it is not a passive act but a call to action. Christians can witness God's power and presence in today's reality. But we must be receptive, rededicated, and actively pursuing our cornerstone, Jesus Christ; this will bring us discipleship, empowering us, and making us responsible for participating in His Kingdom. As it is written in 1 Peter 2:5, the scripture says, "Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ." Each stone God gathers is carefully placed where it's supposed to go in His Kingdom. Our cornerstone can be used to educate children with a Christian foundation centered on Jesus Christ, this includes the younger generation to be a part of the Kingdom building. Thank you, Elder Davidson, for delivering this strong message from God. This will lead us forward and higher together as we continue to remember that Jesus is the cornerstone of our salvation.

"Alignment To The Father"

June 16, 2024 • Sr. Pastor Travis M. Tullis • Deuteronomy 6:1–9, Luke 15:11–24

Senior Pastor Travis Tullis advises us on Father's Day that men must align themselves with the Holy Father in order to learn how to be great fathers through scriptures Deuteronomy 6:1-9 and Luke 15:11-24. It is of utmost importance to understand that when we are misaligned with God, we risk forfeiting His promises. The story of the Prodigal Son serves as a powerful reminder of how we, as children of God, can inadvertently become misaligned with our Holy Father's love, leading to potential spiritual consequences. However, if we turnaround and repent, God is there with open arms to welcome us back into His Kingdom. Fathers are not just called, but entrusted, to mirror God's love in their actions. This is a testament to one of God's greatest commandments: to learn to love the Lord thy God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. With this commandment, we can be blessed by God's grace and mercy to come to ourselves and return home to the Holy Father. God seeks lost children because of His unconditional love and a good father's love has the power to teach, protect, and provide for his children. The role of fathers is not just for the present, but for the future, and the actions of today can shape the generations of tomorrow. Thank you, Senior Pastor Tullis, for leading us forward and higher together by teaching us how to be aligned with our Heavenly Father so that many generations can be impacted by the Father's Kingdom.

"Talking In or Out"

June 9, 2024 • Sr. Pastor Travis M. Tullis • Hebrews 12:15, Matthew 12:30–37, Proverbs 4:23, Proverbs 18:21, Psalm 37:1

When we truly embrace personal responsibility for our thoughts, we unlock a profound power. This power is the ability to speak ourselves into faith, a power far greater than any force that could speak us out of it. Senior Pastor Travis Tullis advises that God, with His creative power can help us cast down any thought and imagination that exalts itself against the knowledge of Jesus Christ through scriptures Matthew 12:30-37, Proverbs 4:23, 18:21, Psalm 37:1, Hebrews 12:15, and 1 Peter 5:10. Our words, when used to speak faith, can lead us to victory. The fruit they produce is a reflection of our hearts. If the Holy Spirit dwells within us, it will manifest in the fruit of the spirit that we bear. By allowing God to abide in our thoughts, we can strengthen our faith and bring forth words that bear abundant good fruit to those around us. However, we must be cautious of idle words, for they can poison our hearts with bitterness. Yet, as believers in Jesus Christ, if idle words are spoken against us, we are shielded by His power, for no weapon formed against us shall prosper. Thank you, Senior Pastor Tullis, for leading us forward and higher together by letting us know that by planting joy in our hearts and thoughts we can encourage others through words of faith.

"A Glimpse Into What Pleases God"

“A Glimpse Into What Pleases God" is about praising and fearing the Lord. Senior Pastor Travis Tullis advises that we can be moved out of darkness by trying to please God, as mentioned in Psalm 147:1-20. If we invest in pleasing the Lord, we will spend time, money, and energy giving God our undivided attention. Even with the many goals we try to achieve, we cannot focus on being the most beautiful, brightest, and strongest because we are all accepted in God's Kingdom. We should not waste the time that God has given us by trying to please people rather than God. If we praise and fear God, when it's time to press into the Kingdom, God can make our enemies at peace with us. With this greater understanding, we can live a Kingdom life marked by unity in our hearts. In this new life, we fear God and trust in Him, and as believers, we are called to make a resolute decision- to direct our efforts solely toward pleasing God and not be swayed by the fleeting approval of the world. "Rejoice In The Hope"

May 26, 2024 • Sr. Pastor Travis M. Tullis • Romans 4:17–25, Romans 5:1–8

Rejoicing in the hope of God's glory through faith gives us victory. When we overcome the challenges of the world with Jesus Christ, we have the experience and patience to build Godly character, which brings hope and imputes righteousness. Senior Pastor Travis Tullis advises that by believing in God, we can glorify Him, enjoy His presence, and become righteous through the blood of Jesus Christ in scriptures Romans 4:17-25, 5:1-8. The magnificence of God makes Him worth our rejoicing, allowing us to not quit even if a situation seems impossible, we can overcome regardless of our inabilities. Even in His grandeur, God still wants to share His glory with us by His presence. Because of this, we can experience the joy of God in our hearts, minds, and spirits, which gives us hope of abundant living through the promise of Jesus Christ. There is no compromise with this promise of abundant living: Jesus is the only hope for peace with God, and He has bestowed upon us power to overcome all things through Him. In all of God's creation, He shows His glory, bringing the evidence of His perfection. Therefore, as believers, rejoicing in hope through our peaks and valleys gives us strength to glory in our tribulations. Thank you, Senior Pastor Tullis, for leading us forward and higher together and encouraging us to rejoice in hope with the glory of God.

"One and A Possible"

May 19, 2024 • Pastor Horace Lanier Jr • 2 Chronicles 7:12–15, Luke 18:18–27, Philippians 1:6

When King Solomon finished the temple for the people to worship the Lord, God spoke to him, letting King Solomon know that there would be trials but that if the people put their trust and follow God, He will deliver His people out of these difficult situations. Pastor Horace Lanier Jr. of Strait Word Baptist Church encourages us to know that with our God, we only need "One and A Possible" through the scriptures 2 Chronicles 7:12-15, Luke 18:18-27, and Philippians 1:6. When we receive God's word and place our trust in it, we witness the extraordinary. The impossible transforms into the possible. This miraculous transformation is achieved through humbling ourselves, seeking the Lord, and turning away from our wicked ways. As Philippians 1:6 assures, "Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." Reflecting on Senior Pastor Travis Tullis's First Anniversary, we see how, with Jesus Christ, all things are possible with God on our side. Thank you, Pastor Lanier, for giving us this word from God. We are blessed to know that Jesus Christ said, "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God."

"Making A Kingdom Connection"

The heroic women in the Bible, with their unwavering strength and resilience, made great sacrifices for us to witness the making of many nations. As we reflect on their contributions to the building of great nations through their heroic faith, we realize that the journey of kingdom-building commences from the very moment of birth. Senior Pastor Travis Tullis reminds us from the scriptures Genesis 1:26-28, that our path to the Kingdom is paved by a mother's sacrifice. This often-unacknowledged sacrifice forms the root of our initial connection to God's Kingdom. God has given us a purpose, and Christ is shaping and preparing us for that purpose in His Kingdom; this transformative journey begins in a mother's womb. We can see that a heroic mother's unconditional love mirrors God's love for us, a love that remains steadfast despite life's struggles. From the Garden of Eden, God has yearned for us to reconnect with His Kingdom through Christ. Yet, to truly reconnect, we must abide in Christ, humble ourselves, and foster cooperation. Thank you, Senior Pastor Tullis, for leading us forward and higher together and encouraging us to make kingdom connections by loving, welcoming, and working with one another in Christ Jesus.

"Don't Miss Your Appointment"

May 5, 2024 • Sr. Pastor Travis M. Tullis • Luke 19:1–10, Hebrews 9:27

When we have an appointment, we plan to meet with someone at a particular time and place. However, our divine appointments are different. They are arranged by God himself, through the Holy Spirit, to help us form a closer relationship with Him. "Don't Miss Your Appointment" Senior Pastor Travis Tullis advises that divine appointments from God are significant opportunities for our spiritual growth in Jesus Christ through scriptures Luke 19:1-10 and Hebrews 9: 27. Between the two inevitable appointments of death and judgment, there are critical moments, divine appointments, that are designed to guide us toward a profound comprehension of God's wisdom, love, and grace. These moments, when we gather, are opportunities for us to meet God with clarity, leading to everlasting joy when we listen to His call. These predestined opportunities will lead us to a change of heart, which will convict our souls and allow Christ to guide us between the two main appointments. Through Christ, we have the strength to overcome temptation and to confess all things to Him that we might be cleansed and He be glorified. "Grateful for His Greatness"

God's greatness surpasses our ability to measure or fully comprehend. It transcends time constraints, standing as a testament to its immeasurability by our earthly standards. Senior Pastor Travis Tullis guides us on learning how to be thankful for God's goodness by being 'Grateful for His Greatness' through the scriptures Psalm 145:1-21 and Hosea 4:1 and 6. God, in His everlasting mercy, fulfills the desires of those who fear Him. As we press towards His Kingdom, we are delivered from our fears and our tears by our merciful Father. This spiritual transformation not only blesses us but also equips us to share the goodness of God's Kingdom, making us His ambassadors for each generation. This gives us hope every day because we were created by God as His greatest creation and God sent us Jesus Christ to guide us on the right path in life. Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross not only grants us life but life in abundance, giving us joy and peace that transcend the oppression of this world. Thank you, Senior Pastor Tullis, for leading us forward and higher together, reminding us that our purpose in life is to glorify God and enjoy His presence while we receive His promises of heavenly blessings.

"Spiritual Decision Making"

April 21, 2024 • Sr. Pastor Travis M. Tullis • John 12:31–49

When making spiritual decisions, it's essential to consider three important questions: would I, could I, and should I. Senior Pastor Travis Tullis help us evaluate these three questions through scriptures John 12:31-49. Although there are many opportunities given to us, we must allow ourselves to be exposed to the right truth, which is found in God’s word, to make the right decisions, which means as believers we cannot lean to our own understanding. By asking 'would', we need to consider if the opportunity is aligned with God’s truth as believers which would lead us to the right decision and the willpower to follow Him. By asking 'could', we think about whether we have the spirit of faith enabling us to walk in God’s destiny for us. Finally, by asking 'should', we weigh the consequences of our decisions and determine if it's the right choice for us as Christians. In viewing Jesus’s track record of miracles performed, the decision to walk in His light is clear. Thank you, Senior Pastor Tullis, for leading us forward and higher together by knowing that Jesus makes Himself available for everyone to make the right spiritual decisions with His Holy Spirit.

"Don't Let Your Entitlement Cause You To Lose Your Title"

April 14, 2024 • Assistant Pastor Curtis Hunt • Philippians 2:5–8, 2 Kings 5:8–11, Psalm 103:1, Psalm 107:1, Psalm 118:24

There are several titles in the church but there is one title that all believers have and that is we are Christians. Assistant Pastor Curtis Hunt provided this message and these focus scriptures to help us understand a Child of God is our one true title; Philippians 2:5-8, 2 Kings 5:8-11, Psalm 103:1:1, Psalm 107 :1, Psalm 118:24, 2 Corinthians 4:15-16 and Matthew 7:21-23. When we think about entitlement, our belief is that one is deserving of privileges or special treatment. But the definition of a Christian is to be Christ-like which means as Christians we are obliged to care about others. We should walk daily in gratitude. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 4:15 “For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.” Once we recognize the importance of humbling ourselves through gratitude, we must follow our Christian duties. These duties include praying for the church, not forsaking the assembly of the gathering for the community of faith, supporting the body of Christ, worshiping, teaching, fellowship, evangelizing, and serving one another in love. The one who loves the most is the highest among us. Therefore, we at PLCBC have made a promise to one another which is, because God loves me, I will love you, because God welcomes me, I will welcome you, and because God works with me, I will work with you. Thank you, AP Hunt, for delivering this strong message from God. This will lead us forward and higher together as we continue to use our title as a Child of God to bless one another in Christ Jesus.
