"Unconditional Surrender"

September 8, 2024 • AP Kevin Bard • Mark 10:13–23, Matthew 26:36–39, Mark 10:15

Desiring the path of surrendering to God means embracing a path that involves placing our trust in something greater than ourselves, having unyielding faith, and releasing our selfish desires to follow God. This unyielding faith allows us to surrender, just as Jesus did with His life, making Him the unparalleled embodiment of 'Unconditional Surrender.'

Through scriptures such as Mark 10:13-23 and Matthew 26:36-39, Assistant Pastor Kevin Bard reminds us that we can be empowered and strengthened to surrender to the love of Jesus by the power of God.

In Mark 10:15, Jesus says, "Verily I say unto you, whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein." This simple yet profound message comforts us by reassuring us that we can experience God's glory and sovereignty in our lives by surrendering like children, just as Jesus did in the garden of Gethsemane.

As we remember throughout the Old Testament, there are numerous instances where individuals, like Noah, Abraham, Moses, and the Hebrew boys, displayed unconditional surrendering to God. These examples further exemplify Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice and serve as powerful reminders of God's deliverance to His glory.

Thank you, AP Bard, for delivering this strong message from God. This will lead us forward and higher together as we remember that Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice when He decided to give His life for us, a powerful example of unconditional surrender that inspires all believers.
