Friday, Feb. 26, 2021 - America's Greatest Need Series: The Need for Love
February 26, 2021
What’s the greatest need in America today? It’s not a vaccine or a better economy, but something only Christ can give. This week, I’ve presented greatest needs in America. repentance, a revived church, truth, and perseverance. A greater need and more powerful in many ways is the need to demonstrate agape love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 teaches, “So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” You see, Jesus taught that others will know we are His followers by our love for one another. This convicting truth challenges us to evaluate our daily actions. We let our light shine brightest when we walk in truth, witness of the truth and show Godly love to others. There’s no greater need in our nation, or for our world. How well are you demonstrating God’s love?
Thursday, Jen. 25, 2021 - America's Greatest Need Series: The Need for Endurance
February 25, 2021
What does every Christian need? Endurance! It’s been said the Christian life’s not a sprint but a marathon, and it’s true! But how do you run the race with endurance? Hebrews 12 teaches us to “run with endurance the race set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfector of our faith.” These powerful words of Scripture remind us our victory is found in our relentless pursuit of Christ. We live in a culture that values speed. We cook food in a microwave, and find ourselves frustrated if our internet connection’s too slow. This attitude though often creeps into our spiritual lives, as we find ourselves ready to give up when God doesn’t answer right away. Yet Scripture’s filled with examples of those who made a great impact by not giving up. Let’s run with endurance and focus on Jesus today.
Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021 - America's Greatest Need Series: The Need for Truth
February 24, 2021
What does every person in America need? The Truth. In Hosea 4:6, God said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” The people of Israel had rejected knowledge substituting personal pleasure for Truth. Hosea 4:9 notes, “And it shall be like people, like priest; I will punish them for their ways.” You see, when we abandon truth, we invite judgment upon our lives and upon our churches. Instead, III John 4 says, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” So, if we truly seek to glorify God, and walk in power in this life, we must build our lives on His truth. God’s Word is truth. Jesus is the Way and the Truth. Let’s intentionally follow our Lord, obey His Word, and grow in truth.
Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021 - America's Greatest Need Series: The Need for a Revived Church
February 23, 2021
What does the Church in America need most today? More than reopened, it needs revived! What will it take to awaken the Church of today? The Apostle James served as leader of the First Christian Church of Jerusalem. When he wrote about revival, he said, “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.” You see, God goes where he is welcomed. As individuals and churches, we must make Christ and obedience to Him our top priority. James goes on, “Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” Even as believers, we regularly stand in need of confession and cleansing. Our actions reflect our hands. Our hearts represent our thoughts. So as the True Church, let’s lead the way by, confessing our sins, and drawing near to God praying for a Revived Church in America.
Monday, Feb. 22, 2021 - America's Greatest Need Series: The Need for Repentance
February 22, 2021
We face many needs in our nation today. From the pandemic to the economy, from our schools to our churches, America confronts tremendous challenges. Yet there is one need often unmentioned in our news: it’s the need for repentance. The Lord warned King Solomon of how to respond when his nation stood in need. The words of II Chronicles 7:14 remain true for America today: “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Repentance is not easy, humbling is hard, but it’s necessary if God’s to heal our nation. Let’s do our part now – humbling, repenting and interceding in prayer for our nation.
Friday, Feb. 19, 2021 - The Truth Series: As For Me and My House
February 19, 2021
Today, we conclude this week’s focus on Truth. In Joshua 24:15, Joshua challenged the people by saying, ‘if you’ve got a problem serving Jehovah God, then be honest enough to state who you will serve.” Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer, with the American Pastors Network and another Stand in the Gap Minute. Serving God requires purposeful choices with a life that proves it! While most Americans say they’re Christians, their lives don’t prove it -and our culture unfortunately reflects it – salt-less salt, little light, no morally prevailing influence. It’s our lives -not our words that matter. The time has come to reject idle speech, and hearts that worship other gods. Holy living, a compelling Christian testimony, and embracing Truth with no other gods before us is a choice. May we like Joshua declare, “but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD!” Will you join with us at Stand in the Gap Radio and TV and choose to serve the Lord of Truth?
Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021 - The Truth Series: The Sword of Truth
February 18, 2021
In Matthew 10:36, Jesus – the Truth -made a startling statement – “I am not come to send peace but a sword.” Ever wonder why the God of peace would contrast peace with a sword designed to divide? Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with the American Pastors Network and another Stand in the Gap Minute. When pastors rightly preach and apply God’s Word and people embrace the sword of truth, it’ll instruct, bring clarity from confusion, and heal the evil division caused by the enemies of Truth who pit rich against poor, white against black – the kind of division that’s evil, and God hates. But dividing truth from lies, Christ from Satan is essential for healing and eternal life. Accepting Christ as Truth brings God’s peace. Rejecting Christ brings judgment and separation from God’s peace. Any surprise the world hates Christ, the Truth, and Christians who live it? Will you join with us at Stand in the Gap Radio and TV and wisely use the sword of Truth?
Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021 - The Truth Series: Absolute Truth, Absolute Cure
February 17, 2021
Since our culture’s become so morally sick and defined good as evil and evil as good, is there a cure? When truth’s rejected and division results, is there healing? The answer is – there can be. To some, the Bible’s inspiring – a good book. For others it’s a source of truth. At APN, we lift up the Word of God as the final authority – the only source of Truth. Never in error- always right. It alone defines good and evil. It alone can point the lost and wandering to eternal life. Its truth alone -if obeyed - can heal the lonely heart and restore the broken family. Obedience to God’s Word the Truth alone can restore our nation and return God’s blessing to us. An absolute cure exists -if we embrace Absolute Truth. Will you join with us at Stand in the Gap Radio and TV and promote the cure of Truth?
Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021 - The Truth Series: When the Enemy Comes In...
February 16, 2021
This week we’re focusing on Truth. Isaiah 59:19 says, “When the enemy come’s in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against them.” As evil floods our land, and truth falls in the streets, Isaiah declares that God’s Spirit will raise up a standard against it. This standard of course is Jesus Christ, the Way and the Truth. But God often chooses to raise up His prepared Remnant as the salt and light -the standard to oppose the evil. At APN, we equip, encourage, and assist God-ordained pastors in the pulpit to be vanguards for Truth. Yet, every true Christian is part of God’s empowered standard to stand against the enemies of Truth. Are you doing your part where you are? Will you join with us at Stand in the Gap Radio and TV and raise the standard of truth?
Monday, Feb. 15, 2021 - The Truth Series: What is Truth?
February 15, 2021
Pilate asked Jesus life’s essential question: What is truth? Some time ago, I interviewed a candidate for public office and asked him to define Truth? His answer: “I don’t know.” So I asked, “How will you make your decisions in office and know you’re right?” He said, “I guess I’ll follow my gut.” Truth’s not subjective, open for debate or found in the gut. Rejecting Jesus as Truth -like Pilate – ensures no moral compass. Rejecting Truth results in confusion, moral bankruptcy, bribery and corruption. Rejecting Truth guarantees that no person in office be they Republican, Democrat, or Independent- can lead with integrity, principle and consistency since each desirable character traits hinges on Truth as defined by God’s Word and modeled by Jesus Christ.
Friday, Feb. 12, 2021 - God's Prayer Requirements: Pray with the Right Motive
February 12, 2021
Prayer can be powerful – and God wants us to pray, but He demands that it’s done His way or He won’t answer. This week, I’ve been talking about God’s Prayer Requirements. Another reason God won’t answer some prayers is because they are selfish prayers! James 4:3 says, “You ask and receive not, because you ask that you may consume it upon your lusts.” While God wants to answer our requests, James clearly warns that when we ask God for things because we want an elevated status in the world’s eyes more than in God’s eyes, or so we can have favor with people more than favor with God, or for any reason other than God’s glory, God won’t answer our prayers. Our prayer motivation makes an enormous difference.
Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021 - God's Prayer Requirements: Pray with Faith Believing
February 11, 2021
Prayer can be powerful – and God wants us to pray, but, He demands that it’s done His way and with faith believing! How often do we pray but not really expect Him to answer? Christ said in Matt 21: 22, “..whatsoever you ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”. Christ told His disciples, when you pray in faith – truly believing God that can answer, you can do great things -- even move mountains! The opposite’s also true. Little faith, little power. From now on, let’s pray in power, clean, obedient and in faith believing because God can and will answer according to His will just like He promised – even move the mountains.
Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021 - God's Prayer Requirements: Pray for God's Will
February 10, 2021
Prayer can be powerful – and God wants us to pray, but He demands it’s done His way including for the right reason. Scripture’s clear – we must start with a clean heart with no unconfessed sin. But we must also pray according to God’s will. How often do we pray considering only our will or what we think is best? When we pray as God requires -He’ll answer. But if we don’t - He won’t even hear us. Jesus Christ prayed according to His Father’s will. Shouldn’t we? Seeing our prayers answered demands obedience in all things – including a submissive attitude to God’s will. So, as Christ prayed, let us also finish with the words, ‘nevertheless not my will but thine be done.’ Powerful prayer requires praying for God’s will in our prayers.
Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021 - God's Prayer Requirements: Pray with a Clean Heart
February 9, 2021
Prayer can be powerful and move mountains or move nothing! Sadly, too many people just go through the motions when they pray with no power or results because their heart’s unclean. Psalms 66:18 says, “If I harbor sin in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.” Unconfessed sin is fatal to powerful prayer. The Psalmist goes on to say that even if we sacrifice and cry out with great passion but have sin in our heart, not only will God not answer, but He won’t even listen! Living in disobedience or harboring unconfessed sin in our hearts guarantees that our prayers won’t be answered. In these perilous days in our nation’s history when we need powerful prayer like never before, let’s examine our own hearts first.
Monday, Feb. 8, 2021 - God's Prayer Requirements: Does God Answer All Prayers?
February 8, 2021
Ever hear the phrase, “Prayer changes things.” Do you believe it? The Apostle Paul said, ‘Pray without ceasing. James says, ‘the effectual prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much.” As Christians we should place great value on prayer – because God does. Prayer’s a command, it’s worship and it’s a privilege. Why don’t more people pray and why we don’t see more answers to prayer? Most Christians know in their head that prayer’s important and many faithfully pray – increasingly for our nation in these critical days. But is God answering our prayers? While praying is good. Praying in obedience to God and according to His will with faith believing is essential.
