Transcript: Now just days away, while Christmas anticipation builds for us, it was even more for Mary and Joseph. Imagine an angel telling you not to be afraid even though your baby’s father was God and His name would be Emmanuel, God with us? Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with the American Pastors Network and a timely Stand in the Gap Minute. Marvel with me if you would at this amazing miracle. God, the Creator of human life, becomes Father to His son Jesus – the Son of God - who was born to die so if we believe in Him, we too can become a son of God. Think about it. God in the flesh, dies for our sins so we can also become a son of God to His Father - now our Father and become brothers and joint heirs with Jesus Himself! I can’t explain this but I can accept it. Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer, with the American Pastors Network and another Stand in the Gap Minute. At Creation, when God created man and gave him life, He planned to give him even more - a Redeemer. You see, the Christmas gift promised at Creation was a demonstration of the love and mercy of God to a fallen and sinful human race. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life. Because He loves us, the Son of God, Jesus Christ the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the Creator became like the created, wholly God yet wholly Man for you and me. Transcript: As adopted children of God, we have an elevated identity in Christ. I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. When we make mistakes and sin every day, it’s easy to become discouraged and give up even trying to be like Christ. Yet I John 3 verse 3 teaches that everyone with their identity in Christ purifies themselves as Christ is pure. What does this mean? First, if you’re a believer, we can live in daily confidence. We’re FORGIVEN. The penalty of our sin’s been paid! Second, we can live in victory. While our flesh is weak, the Spirit’s empowering. When we lean on God’s strength, we can live out God’s will- God’s way. Allow understanding our identity in Christ to empower us to be grateful to God our loving Father and enable us through His Spirit to shape our focus and better impact this world for Christ this Christmas season and beyond.
