Transcript: Only in Christ can true meaning and purpose in life be found. I John 3 offers valuable insights into our identity as God’s children. Understanding our position in Christ will strengthen our faith and witness. Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. If we know Jesus Christ as Savior, God’s made us part of His adopted family. He’s promised an inheritance, an eternal home in heaven and joint heir relationship with Jesus Christ Himself. Not employees, contractors, or slaves, we’re beloved sons and daughters of a loving Heavenly Father. And as only God our Father can do, He loves unconditionally. We can do nothing to make Him love us more or to love us less. As we close out one year and welcome another, may this understanding of our identity in Christ prompt us to love others unconditionally, and model for a world in need what it means to be a child of God. Transcript: As adopted children of God, we have an elevated identity in Christ. I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. When we make mistakes and sin every day, it’s easy to become discouraged and give up even trying to be like Christ. Yet I John 3 verse 3 teaches that everyone with their identity in Christ purifies themselves as Christ is pure. What does this mean? First, if you’re a believer, we can live in daily confidence. We’re FORGIVEN. The penalty of our sin’s been paid! Second, we can live in victory. While our flesh is weak, the Spirit’s empowering. When we lean on God’s strength, we can live out God’s will- God’s way. Allow understanding our identity in Christ to empower us to be grateful to God our loving Father and enable us through His Spirit to shape our focus and better impact this world for Christ this Christmas season and beyond. Spiritual Victory Series: Flee Temptation/Pursue Righteousness

Until we commit to biblical obedience and putting on the armor of God and engaging the enemies of God and His Truth - the Church, our families, and our nation will remain weak and divided. Resisting the devil and fleeing from temptation is critical for victorious living, but fleeing to and pursuing righteousness, faith, love, and peace along with others who with a pure heart follow the Lord in obedience as II Timothy 2:22 records is essential. Living victorious Christian lives requires the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives and that power can only be experienced when we’re pursuing holiness and righteousness…God’s will not our will… and choosing to engage the enemies of Truth according to God’s plan. Warning about evil people and their tactics Christ describes as ‘wolves’ in Matt. 10:16 is critical for every pastor, parent, and person in authority. The devil works through wolves to destroy, persecute, and ravage the sheep. We see this in America today. So, Christian leader, when’s the last time you warned your people – your children - about a wolf? When’s the last time you stood on the wall and warn about the advancing enemy? When’s the last time you contended for the faith and warned about the false prophet as commanded by Jude?
