You Are a Blessing and Not a Curse
October 11, 2020 • Mike Stubbs
Within its local gatherings, the Church of Jesus Christ is remarkably diverse in its theological spectrum, understanding of grace, freedom from the Law, general maturity and opinions of other believers. Since it took over 300 years to formally establish our understanding of the divine nature of Jesus Christ at the Nicene Council, we should offer a few years of grace for those less mature than ourselves to have time to grow. Theological understanding develops when human filters are removed, mostly through hard times, to read the Word of God in all its simplicity. In the meantime, the church should work hard to remain a place the tax collector, harlot, leper, broken Pharisee can flee to for compassion, comfort and healing instead of becoming a hardened religious institution quick to discipline and kick out those who fall short of perceived but not real ideals of Jesus Christ instead of working hard to make space for personal spiritual growth.
Are You Saved?
September 27, 2020 • Tolbert Livingston
When challenged with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, how do we respond to it in daily life? Are you placing yourself in a position for God to rub off on you? Are you confident of your salvation? How can you know for sure? This message will address these questions with the confidence that comes from the Word of God - the scriptures.

With uncertainty, fear and anxiety rampant in our culture that many feel is going the wrong direction, it is easy to begin to feel lost in fear, despair and depression in a world that feels out-of-control. The remedy is hope. It is hope that is more than mere optimism, but based on Someone greater than this fallen world.
A Christian Response to the Anti-Christ
September 13, 2020 • Mike Stubbs
Scripture interprets scripture, so to understand the last days, we must read the Bible’s easy-to-understand instruction without filters. Today we are going to talk about the end times and the anti-Christ as the scriptures lead even if it challenges our previously held assumptions. You don’t have to agree with what I teach, but I would ask you to humbly consider it.
Resilient Leadership in Turbulent Times
September 6, 2020 • Mike Stubbs
Leadership is required for everything in life – family, career, faith and social circles. A resilient leader is a spouse, a parent, a faith-influencer, a co-worker, a friend, etc., who sees failures, challenges or calamity as only temporary setbacks they can recover from quickly. They maintain a positive attitude and a strong sense of opportunity during periods of turbulence. When faced with uncertain times, a resilient leader finds ways to move themselves, and those they are responsible for, forward while communicating a reassuring outcome. We are each given leadership responsibility in given circles, so let’s discuss it together.
The Believer's Response to the Signs of the Times
August 30, 2020 • Mike Stubbs
People are looking at what they are seeing happening in the world and many are thinking about God and the return of Jesus Christ. Are you ready and will you be victoriously standing strong in the faith if He were to come in our lifetime? Let’s talk about a response to the times and adjustments we must make.
Denial and Confession of Christ in the Last Days
August 23, 2020 • Mike Stubbs
Everything is getting black and white in the world; you either believe something or you don’t. It actually plays into the hand of God because, in the case of Jesus Christ, acknowledging the deity of Christ, upholding His teaching and suffering with Him in the sense of denying self and choosing Jesus decision by decision is part of confessing Christ. The opposite would be a denial of the Son of God. In this lesson, we will look more deeply into denying Christ and how that can be manifesting in these last days.
God Is for You and Not Against You!
August 16, 2020 • Mike Stubbs
Often, we determine God’s love by how well things go for us. If things go well, then God must love us. If things don’t go well, then God doesn’t love us. The truth of God’s love is not based on our circumstances or what the critics or cynics say. It’s based on who He is and that never changes. But His love can change each of us.
Don't Be Provoked!
August 9, 2020 • Mike Stubbs
The world is trying to think for you. And if you don’t respond when they tell you to, they will often try to provoke you into a response with condescending, disrespectful and flat-out insulting rhetoric that is not necessarily fact-based – just read Emporia Chat on Facebook. We must capture everything we see and hear, filter it through the teachings of Christ and formulate a Spirit-led response based on truth, laced with grace and delivered in God’s timing.
As If It Never Happened
August 2, 2020 • Mike Stubbs
Every Christian can live unoffended. It is not a suggestion but a mandatory tenant of the faith. In our offended and unforgiving culture, it is more important than ever to know how to live free from the bondage of offendedness. We can become the most unoffendable people on the face of the earth because no one has the grace we possess.
Life's Highest Delight
July 26, 2020 • Mike Stubbs
Man has always been seeking delightful things; things that make him happy. God is not opposed to us having the delights of our heart – things that bring pleasure and happiness – because He created all good things. But if we purse them the wrong way, it can open a door of opportunity to darkness.

Sometimes we must admit we do not know what is doing on around us. We feel like a horse that has been blindfolded to lead it out of a burning barn. That horse must have a lot of confidence in the quiet, assuring voice of the handler. Do you trust in God that way? Do you hear His assuring voice, or do you make too much noise? I want to share some things I have learned that have helped me navigate uncertainty much more confidently.
Be a Lover and Not a Hater
July 12, 2020 • Mike Stubbs
Love is an important thing. Most people would acknowledge this even if they choose not to do much about it. To become a lover, instead of a hater, is central to being a disciple of Jesus Christ or we lose our legitimacy to those watching us. The only way to grow in love is to assume we have blind spots we need addressed, to carefully consider what is revealed and take purposeful action to correct our shortcomings while trusting Jesus Christ’s power to change us. Let this 16 minute message challenge you today.

July 5, 2020 • Mike Stubbs
