At the creation of man, the breath of life was breathed into the lifeless body of Adam formed from the elements of the earth. The pure spirit that was breathed into man was corrupted by choice to rebel against God. Laws were created to contain humanity’s lawless nature until a Savior could come as a perfect “Second Adam” and give mankind “new birth” by breathing into him a new “breath of life” and thus putting a new spirit into him. Our new life is not a refurbishment but a recreation. The old is gone and the new has come.
