Everyone loves a winner. We are ingrained with a desire to find success, improvement, progress, etc. We were not designed to flounder through life making one bad choice after another. Leading ourselves (or being led) down the road to a miserable, burdened life. We were meant to experience freedom, victory, hope, and anticipation for a better future. But many people (even those who consider themselves Christians) find that frustration and failure happens more than victory and success. We were never meant to suffer through these burdens! God has done incredible, life-changing things to set us free from the burdens that prevent us from experiencing the hopeful triumphs that our souls crave!

Water Baptism

If you go to Israel and explore the ancient sites where Jesus lived, you'll discover the biblical practice of ritual bathing, where men and women cleansed themselves of physical dirt and spiritual impurities. Jesus and his disciples preached repentance and encouraged baptism as a symbol of spiritual renewal. In the Great Commission, Jesus commanded His disciples to spread His teachings to all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This call to discipleship resonates with us today, urging us to live out our faith boldly and inspire our family and friends to follow without hesitation or shame. Let us embrace this mission with courage, reflecting the light of Christ in all we do.

The Evidence of True Repentance

When God acts, people can either choose to align with Him or oppose Him. The phrase "a move of God" typically suggests a positive response, as seen when individuals repent and turn towards God, demonstrated by their actions. This doesn’t guarantee an easy path or immunity from spiritual warfare, but Scripture assures us that those who remain steadfast will witness God's salvation and experience an undeniable victory.

Repentance: Turning Away From Sin

The word “repentance” often conjures up daunting images of people with signs proclaiming, “Repent, for the end is near!” But in reality, repentance is a beacon of hope. It means to turn around. No matter how difficult things have become or how distant you may feel from God, when you repent or turn back to Him, you immediately encounter His love and mercy, ready to welcome you with open arms like the father of the prodigal son. And since authentic believers are an extension of the heart of God, you may find yourself feeling less distant from your brothers and sisters in Christ, too.
