It is easy for us to sometimes be caught up in staring at the person in the mirror and believing the lies that the enemy wants us to believe: that we are not good enough, that we can't be forgiven, or that we will never be accepted by Him. Yet, as we look at Romans 6 and 7, Paul is saying that in Jesus, our old lives are dead and we are now alive in Christ, which is what we declare in public baptism.

So many times, we are still trying to pay penance for our sin, yet in these chapters, Paul is reminding us that Jesus paid for your sin. We don't have to pick up our guilt and shame. You can choose to let sin be your master or you can choose to daily lay down the old self and walk freely in life with Christ.
