This week, Pastor Katherine helped us tackle the Truth that we find in Romans 5, where Paul begins by helping us unfold what reconciliation looks like with the love of Jesus and the work of the cross.

We also discovered what it is to be hope filled prisoners, children of God who trust in Him and have our eyes on Jesus, held captive by the love, hope and freedom in Christ.

In this week of our series on the book of Romans, Elder Jeff Blackwell tackled Romans 6 which includes popular scriptures that many have memorized over the years, but in this sermon, you find that Jeff brings fresh vision to this chapter, reminding us of the divine influence of the Holy Spirit to bring grace that weaves throughout the chapter. Though we deserve death, though we sometimes have struggles, we can be grateful that even in our lacking, the Lord, in his kindness and favor, has provided such a gift of life through Jesus Christ and we begin to see this grace and mercy reflected as we are no longer slaves to sin and death but find what's it's truly like to live in Him.

This week, Senior Pastor Scott Hobbs tackled Romans 4, where Paul gives us a glimpse at what living a life of faith looks like and how to walk that out. We are able to see this faith-filled example in the story of Abraham, whose faith was a reflection of trusting the Father for something that seemed to be impossible in his life. You may feel like there is so much that you need to do to be right with God, and the truth is that you can't get right with God on your own. Jesus puts us right with the Father. So what does God need? He just needs your yes! He doesn't need perfection. He doesn't you need to get it all right. He needs you to trust and follow Him!

Without Jesus, we are not good and trying to stand before the Lord on our own merits will never be enough. It's only by the blood. BUT NOW...this is the gospel: this is given to ALL who believe.
