The director and writers have been extremely creative in their retelling of the biblical narrative of the life of Christ, and now, you're invited to take a deeper dive!   In the bible study guide for season 1, "What does it mean to be chosen?" the chapters parallel each episode, connecting readers to the Bible in a brand new way. It includes:   - A deeper look at Isaiah 43 and its fulfillment in Jesus and the lives of His followers (including us) - Script excerpts, quotes, and illustrations from the show - Guiding questions for group discussions   We are loved because Jesus is love. We are saved because He is merciful. We belong to the family of God because Jesus invites us, making the Bible and all its promises as true for us today as it was for God’s chosen nation.   What does it actually mean to be chosen? To answer that question, we’re going Old School – Testament that is – which leads us back to the New. This ALWAYS leads us directly to Jesus! This monthly class will meet every 2nd Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. starting January 16th in person at Tom & Judy Shaw's home in Rochester, NH. Dessert is included. The cost for this class is $22, if you get the study guide through CLC. You can pay ahead of time at the church building. The Bait Of Satan

January 17, 2024 • Denise Satrape

Personally, as a pastor, I have seen the destructive force that offense can bring into the lives of people. Offense inevitably creates “a fence” between me and others, between me and God. Yet, many of us have never taken the time to learn how to recognize the signs, symptoms, and behavior that offense brings and how to properly deal with it.  That is why I am conducting this group in this season. If we are going to experience “More in 2024,” it will be a result of us growing in the truth and then learning how to apply it. Therefore, join me, Pastor Denise, as we delve in and discover “The Bait of Satan,” in this group, we will expose one of the most deceptive snares Satan uses to get believers out of the will of God--offense. This trap restrains countless Christians, severs relationships, and widens the gulfs between us. Jesus said, "It is impossible that no offenses should come" (Luke 17:1). Although you will encounter offense, you can choose how you will react. We will utilize John Bevere’s book “The Bait of Satan,” as we learn how to identify the traps and of us and escape the victim mentality. With declaration-style prayers and testimonials from people whose lives have been changed by his message, this group will inspire you to stay free from offense and its destructive power. I will also share from some resources that I have utilized in helping people to be free from the bait and the impact of the enemy in our life. Don't let anyone affect your relationship with God! We will be utilizing Bevere's book $14 and the interactive guide $12 - Bring a Bible and heart ready to grow.

Champions - Young Adults

January 3, 2024 • Daniel O'Brien

Attention all college and career Young Adults! We invite you to our Young Adults group, Champions! What are Champions?? The main goal of this group is simple: to help young adults connect with each other so we can encourage each other in seeking first His Kingdom. God is moving and speaking all the time in our lives- We're passionate about helping you see God in your everyday living and learning together how we can cooperate with him! Living in this manner makes monotony dissipate and purpose and meaning come alive in our hearts! This is the lifestyle of a champion! This Spring Semester, we will be taking a sharing from "Wired" Written In Red Every Day" -What would happen to us if we ONLY READ the RED for 50 days? Major parts of the New Testament are written in red. Whenever the words are in red it means those were the words that Jesus actually spoke while he was on this earth. AMAZING! This devotion does not negate the rest of the Bible but it poses a challenge: What if we only read the words of Jesus? How would it change our life? Would we think different, act different and change the way we treat others? WHAT COULD POSSIBLY HAPPEN? Jesus spent 40 days on earth after he was resurrected, sharing His new way of ministry! Then He breathed on the disciples and told them to receive the Spirit. Right before He ascended to heaven, he said to wait! Wait that I will give you something that's going to help you… The Holy Spirit. They spent 10 days waiting...which equals to 50 days. Join us and take a 50 day journey and get WIRED!   Champions meet every Wednesday from 6:00pm – 8:30pm at Christian Life Church in Eliot, ME in the Youth building! We will cover topics that are relevant to empower you in your daily walk in life. If you desire, you can bring a snack to share. When you sign up, you'll be added to our email list so you can stay in the know with the plans we have!   We're all about creating a community of young adults who are everyday champions, fighting the good fight. And if you're college-age to thirties, we want you to help us build this community! Join us weekly, and for our special trips and events!     Hit the sign-up button on this page to get some info & find out when we're meeting next or email Dan O'Brien at mailto:daniel.obrien@citlchurches.org

New Level Leaders

January 18, 2024 • Pastor Ron Satrape

Join Pastor Ron on Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. continuing January 18th for "New Level Leaders." This group meets via ZOOM only. To sign up for this weekly group, hit the "SIGN UP" button on this page. Where we go in life rises and falls on leadership. Yet there are many misconceptions about what it is to be a leader. As believers, we are called to make disciples and ultimately make disciple-developing disciples. This requires a higher level of leadership. Leadership in God's Kingdom is not the same as leadership of the world. Jesus Christ demonstrated the highest level of leadership in human history. He came as a servant-leader who laid down His life for those who followed Him. He continues to lead through those who choose to follow Him. Following Him requires learning how to lead others to follow Him. Jesus said, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men!" Leadership is something we can all learn and lead other learners as we follow. In this semester, we will begin continue the book by John Maxwell entitled, "The Leader's Greatest Return." You’ll learn about attracting, developing, and multiplying leaders. To do that, you must find them so you can develop them, invite them to the leadership table, connect with them before you lead them, encourage them to give their best, train them to be great at their job, release them to reach their potential, team them up to multiply their impact, coach them to the next level, show them how to develop leaders, receive the highest return of developing leaders, and much more. This is a discussion based group that will propel you to the new level of leadership God is developing in your life. Join us on Thursday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. via ZOOM continuing January 18th. Even though this group is continuing from previous semesters, you can jump in! We plan to review what we've covered before moving on. The cost for this class is $15 for the book. You can purchase the materials ahead of time at CLC. The title is, “The Leader's Greatest Return" by John Maxwell. Hit the SIGN UP button on this page to let the facilitator know you are planning to come!
