The Power of a Lie Is in Your Agreement With It

March 3, 2024

Listen in as our guest speaker, evangelist Jamey Ragle, gives us insight into how the devil is the father of all lies and how he will use these lies to manipulate our thinking. Jesus tells us that He is "the Way, the Truth, and the Life". No one comes to the Father except through Him. Believe and trust in the Truth that Jesus is.

Our Hope Is in the Lord

November 26, 2023 • Randall Snipes/Dorian Lopez

Hope is the expectancy of happiness and the optimism of good ahead. The problem is that hope is only as strong as what it is anchored to. Hebrews 6:19 tells us that our hope must be anchored to Jesus. Apart from Jesus, life is a series of hopeless events. God, however, has given believers two promises that should give us hope today. As a believer in Him, our sins are forgiven and our future is secure! These two things may not cure the temporary pain or depression but they are the substance of ongoing hope.

Humbly Grateful or Grumbly Hateful

November 19, 2023

As we approach and prepare for the holiday of gratitude, we are reminded in Scripture of many people who got this wrong. This is most prevalent in the story of Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt, into the wilderness, on their journey to the promised land. The Israelites constantly complained and grumbled whenever they got the least bit uncomfortable. Gratitude is to show that a kindness received is valued. So what have you received that God expects you to be grateful for? When we choose the attitude of gratitude, it is better for us, it is pleasing to God, and it has a positive impact on those around us. If we choose complaining, life becomes a wilderness. Be intentional on choosing thankfulness and gratitude today.

The Lord, He Is One

November 12, 2023 • Randall Snipes • Exodus 20:3

Idolatry is a very prevalent thing that we see in the Old Testament. However, idolatry is just as prevalent, if not more, in today's world. The "idols" have changed over time but the problem still persists. God told us in Exodus 20 that we "shall have no other gods before Him" and, unfortunately, we fail at this quite often. We love ourselves and the world around us to the point that we are willing to ignore or set aside out commitment to love God with all of our being. We are called to put God as number 1 in our lives so take time today to renew your commitment to God and love Him with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength.

Theology for Loss and Disappointment

February 12, 2023 • Randall Snipes

When we are faced with loss and disappointment in this life, we tend to ask some very tough questions. We oftentimes find ourselves moving farther away from God in times like these instead of drawing nearer. The story of Job brings to light how everything can seemingly be going wrong but in the midst of all of it, if we remember that our primary thing to get right is to worship God, then we can truly proclaim that He is worthy. These instances in life are not about us, they are about Him.

The New Year/Whole Year/Whole Life Resolution

January 1, 2023 • Randall Snipes • Psalm 107:1–32

The goal for most sermons is to remind us of what we know to be true. They help us remember and respond to Truth but our tendency is to forget and rebel. Can you remember a time in the past that you suffered due to circumstances, sinfulness, stupidity, or storms? Let us not forget this year that God has delivered us in the past and that He will continue to bring us through the storms of life. God calls us to remember not how bad our situation is but how consistently He has delivered us. Let us give thanks to God today, this week, and this year! Remember and Respond with praise!

The Consistent Nature of Christ

March 13, 2022 • Randall Snipes

All of us have some sin consequence that we would like to undo. As we discussed last week, you can choose your sin but you cannot choose your consequences. The longer you stay in sin, the worse the consequences, the deeper the wound, the greater the regret. However, the consistent nature of Jesus is Redemption. He did not come to condemn but to save! That is the Good News today.

The Consistent Nature of Sin

March 6, 2022 • Randall Snipes

The Bible is full of stories that help us to appreciate the high cost of sin. They are often heart-breaking stories that serve as a forewarning against disobedience. It is stories like these that help remind us of the steep price that we pay when we disobey. God's instruction is designed for our good and when we choose to ignore it or maybe even become lazy in our sin awareness, there are lasting and painful consequences. We can choose our sin but not the consequences of it.

How to Bless When You are Broken

February 27, 2022 • Randall Snipes

Listen in this week as Pastor Randall Snipes uses the story of Aaron's sons, Nadab and Abihu, to give us a picture of how past tragedies should not hinder our ability to show others the love of Christ. Our mission doesn't change, even in the wake of life's greatest tragedies. The Bible tells us that "in this life we will have trouble" but we carry the message of life and the mission is bigger than our troubles.

"Everything Is Against Me!"

January 16, 2022 • Abie Kulynych • Psalm 124

Listen in as our special guest speaker, Pastor Abie Kulynych, explains how so often we feel as though everything that surrounds us is against us. However, God is always on our side and working for our good, even though we may not see it that way. David reminds us in Psalm 124 that no matter what comes against us, God is for us.

You Are Not Your Past!

December 26, 2021 • Randall Snipes

As we look at Psalm 42-49, we see that they all share the same http://author.......the sons of Korah. Listen in to Pastor Randall as he explains just who the sons of Korah are and how this relates to understanding that your past does not define you, your pain does not define you, and your failures do not define you. God can rewrite our stories, repurpose our lives, and reshape our futures into something that is so far removed from what we used to be. We can be examples of God's unbelievable Mercy and Grace.

Vexed by the Vax

October 31, 2021 • Randall Snipes

So often, we see the COVID-19 vaccine at the center of debate in just about every other conversation that we have. Many times this conversation becomes heated because the other person is not seeing things our way and this makes us upset. Sometimes this conversation may even take a turn for the worse and hatred for the other person enters into our minds. However, as Christians, Romans 14 tells us that there is freedom from all of this in Christ. It tells us that we should accept each other even if we do not agree. Don't argue, don't criticize and understand that it is not about us and what we want. Everything that we do should be about glorifying God and focusing on not having a desire to love something more than God. Even when that desire is having a particular stance on an issue that is a "hot" topic. We are called to walk with the One who has all the information and all the answers that we will ever need.

The War of the Worlds

June 20, 2021 • Randall Snipes

UFOs, aliens, and the thought that there might be life outside of Earth has captivated the world's attention. There have been hundreds, maybe even thousands, of movies, television shows, and other forms of media that seem to further solidify these beliefs. However, as we prepare for an alien invasion, zombie apocalypse, government hostility, or nuclear fallout, we are failing to prepare for the greatest battle that we will face in this life. It is a very real and ongoing Spiritual battle. God has given everyone, but especially dads, the primary responsibility to protect our families from an evil power that threatens to destroy them. It is not aliens, zombies, Russia, China, or American corruption. It is sin and the schemes of Satan.

Combating the Christmas Blues

December 6, 2020 • Randall Snipes

Christmas is a wonderful time of year where we can come together and celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. However, this time of year can also be difficult for many people who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Not having that special person in our lives during the holiday season can give us the "Christmas Blues". The Apostle Paul gives us hope in the book of 1 Thessalonians that we will one day be together with those who have gone before us. While we are here, however, we must remember to encourage one another and build each other up. Most importantly, remembering to rejoice always, pray constantly, and give thanks in everything. These things will combat the "Christmas Blues".

Be Still and Know

October 25, 2020 • Michael Proudfoot

When it comes to the ten commandments, the one that is most often ignored is the Sabbath. The command is to remember the Sabbath and keep it holy. The Sabbath is more than just going to church for a few hours, eating lunch, falling asleep, watching sports, and just generally doing whatever we want since we don't have to go to work. God intended the Sabbath to be a day that brings Him glory through our keeping it and the benefits for us that naturally flow out of time spent with God. We must commit to honoring the Sabbath as a day devoted to worshiping God because of His greatness and all that He has done. We can put into practice sacrificing our selfish desires in order to pursue what is of greater value, to lean in and remember that God is our sustainer, provider, and protector, and to realign our life's mission with God as He is working in this world.
