God is Near

June 7, 2020 • Pastor Sharon Baldwin

During these turbulent times, it is sometimes hard to realize that God is Near to us and that we can trust Him. In today's lesson, we have fun with "NEAR" AND "FAR". Our story tells us that Jesus came near the disciples when they were frightened on a rocky boat. One of the greatest feats in the Bible takes place next when Peter walks on water with Jesus. Jesus was NEAR to Peter and had to rescue him. "God knows what we need before we even ask." Matthew 6:8 Parents, take a moment and view ONLINE Preschool Church together as a family. We changed it up a bit at the beach and its only 8 minutes long. Send us pictures and let us see how you are celebrating summer. See you again next time! Pastor Sharon Baldwin

The Blessing | May You See God's Great Power Everyday

May 17, 2020 • Pastor Sharon Baldwin

Meet Professor GuessAgain. She's funny and has a great illustration for today's lesson. Secret ingredients to try it at home are included below. Today, we learn that Jesus used MUD to heal a man's eyes. The man couldn't see but Jesus used His power to help the man see. Have you ever made a mud pie? It can be fun to play in the mud. Marcy Monsterpop discovers that MUD might be cool if Jesus uses it. Otherwise, Paula's Donuts are her favorite. REMEMBER VERSE Our God is great and VERY powerful. There is no limit to what He knows. Psalm 147:5 THE BIG GOD STORY Jesus and his disciples were walking along a road. They saw a man who was born with eyes that didn't work. Jesus stopped and put MUD on the man's eyes. What was Jesus thinking? It was real mud. And it was on the man's eyes. Jesus told the man to go wash off the mud. The man listened. The man washed his face. And you know what? THE MAN COULD SEE!!! Jesus healed the man!! PROFESSOR GUESSAGAIN WOULD LIKE TO SHARE HER EXPERIMENT WITH YOU. 1 CUP WATER 2 CUPS CORN STARCH MIX TOGETHER AND POUR INTO A PAN. WALK YOUR FINGERS ACROSS IT. POUND IT. NOTHING HAPPENS. PLACE A QUARTER ON TOP AND WATCH IT DISAPPEAR. A WORSHIP RESPONSE for you to do with your family. What is something you are afraid of? Draw it on a small piece of paper and attach it to a big paperclip. Tell God your fear. "I am giving this to you." Put the picture and paperclip on your cornstarch pie and watch it disappear. GOD TAKES OUR FEARS. HE GIVES US FAITH INSTEAD. Now hop another paper clip across the mud and say, "God, You are Powerful!"

God Provides

May 10, 2020 • Pastor Sharon Baldwin

Today's lesson is about how GOD PROVIDES! There is an awesome meal where there was only a little lunch and yet God did some awesome multiplication. Check out the video and the activities below. REMEMBER VERSE Our God is GREAT and VERY POWERFUL There is no limit to what HE KNOWS. Psalm 147:5 WORSHIP RESPONSE ACTIVITY Cut an apple together and count the seeds. For every seed, think of one way God provides for your family. Then take each seed and thank God for those things He provides. 1. God gives us... food. Thank you God for our food. 2. God gives us... ________. Thank you God for ________. 3. God gives us....________. Thank you God for ________.

Jesus calms a storm

May 3, 2020 • Pastor Sharon Baldwin

Hey Friends! Today in our lesson Jesus calms a storm! Check out the new fun activities included in this week's video with Ms. Anita and Pastor Sharon. We miss our Preschool Friends. I'm so glad we can have fun here. By the way, The BIG GOD STORY Jesus and his disciples were in a boat crossing a lake. A BIG storm came up. It got very wet. It got very bouncy. The little boat was really bouncing on the waves and the disciples were afraid. Can you show a scared face? Yep. They were scared. Jesus? Where was he? Asleep? ZZZZZZ. How can he be asleep?? Jesus, wake up! Jesus woke up. He looked around and said to the wind, "Be quiet". He said to the waves, "SHHHHHH!" The wind listened. The waves listened. The disciples were amazed. WOW! Jesus is powerful. Who is he? Jesus is God. God is Powerful! THE BLESSING. (Parents- Bless your children with these words.) May you be filled with wonder in living your life for God. A FUN FAMILY WORSHIP ACTIVITY God is... Join us in a worship experience. Take pieces of triangle shaped paper. Write worship words on each paper. Powerful. Strong. Awesome. Worthy. My Healer. or any other words that tell God who He is. Put a toothpick through them like a sail and place them in a piece of sponge. Put on quiet praise music. Fill a tub with the water and launch the boats one at a time, telling God, "God, You are Powerful." "You are Wonderful"etc.. Make this a family worship time around a tub or bin of water.

Jesus Chose His Helpers

April 26, 2020 • Pastor Sharon Baldwin

The Big God Story Have you ever gone fishing? You cast your pole with the line. You wait. And then a fish bites and you pull it up. Whoa! Every fish seems like the big one. Jesus went fishing, but instead of catching fish, he caught people. Well, actually, he told the men fishing that He wanted them to follow Him and be His disciples. Peter, James, and John, and 9 others became Jesus’ friends. They followed Him. They helped Him. They listened to stories. They talked with Jesus. They were Jesus’ disciples. They worked hard and loved God. When Jesus went away to heaven, they took over and did just as Jesus told them too. Now we can be Jesus’ helpers, too. THE BLESSING. (Parents- Bless your children with these words.) May you know and experience God’s great love for you. May you see in each day the special way you are part of God’s Big Story. Alike and Different GAME Play a game. 5 objects. Four are alike and one is different. Can you pick out the one that is different? Do it again. Different can be color, shape, size, cold, hot. Have fun playing this with your kids. Our lesson today is about how Jesus chose 12 friends who were alike and yet different.

God's Big Plans

April 19, 2020 • Pastor Sharon Baldwin

THE BIG GOD STORY God had BIG plans for Jesus. When Jesus was born, the angels celebrated, the shepherds came and the Wise Men traveled a long way to see this special baby boy. God had BIG plans. Jesus grew up and chose 12 Disciples. He healed sick people. He fed 5000 people with just a little lunch. He died on the cross. And then He rose from the dead. We are talking BIG plans. Jesus is now in Heaven making room for us. He wants us to follow Him and to be a part of His great plan. God has BIG plans for you, too. We can know God and live for Him. We can be part of the BIG Plans. Families: Let me encourage you to take time to pray together as a family! Worship together at the 10 AM service and then spend 15 minutes watching Preschool Ministries together. REMEMBER VERSE “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “Plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 THE BLESSING. May you know and experience God’s great love for you. May you see in each day the special way you are part of God’s Big Story.

Jesus as King

April 5, 2020 • Pastor Sharon Baldwin

I have a brand-new video this week about Jesus and Palm Sunday. The video is under 15 minutes long and designed to be a shortened worship lesson for my Preschool Friends. We miss you! Yo-yo and I join in to tell about Jesus as King. Watch the video this week and write back to me. A fun activity: Grab a green piece of paper and have the Adult in your house be ready with scissors as I show you how to make a palm branch to wave for worship. A coloring activity: Download the link and print for a coloring sheet that you can color at home. Most important: Take time to pray with your child and bless them. May they know that Jesus is King and He loves them very much. Love, Pastor Sharon Chat with us: Join us on Thursday at 6:30 PM or Sunday at 9 AM. We are chatting with Ms. Lauren, Ms. Abby, Pastor Sharon, and others and having time to say Hi to our friends on Zoom. We are taking the extra precautions to make it safe and having fun seeing everyone.

Our Big God Story is about Gideon

March 29, 2020 • Pastor Sharon Baldwin

Our Lesson: Our story is about Gideon and how he had to trust God when it seemed like it was impossible and crazy too. Activity 1: Grab some blankets and make a fort. What else can the blanket be? A cape for a superhero? Waves for the big rolled sock fish in the center. A shield to hide your snoring?? A blanket is in our story today. Activity 2: Take a piece of paper and decorate it with stickers, markers or crayons. Roll it into a cone shape and tape it in place. Play the small end like a trumpet. A trumpet is in our story today. Remember verse: The Lord our God is with us; the Mighty Warrior who saves. Zephaniah 3:17a Worship Response: Take a big piece of paper. Pretend it is a blanket. As a family, write your prayer requests on the blanket. Take time to hear what each one says and give validation to each request. Draw prayers to God. Dear God. Thankful for... Please help… Bless my family… Heal…. Have all the family lay hands on the "blanket of prayer" and ask God to do his miracle. Ask God to fulfill his promises. Hang the blanket where you will pray together during this week. Last Big Idea: Tithe together as a family. Show your kids how you give to God. Pray over your offering and push the online giving button together, or put the stamp on the envelope together. These are the principles to pass on in our foundation building with our youngest worshippers.
