Message #102 - ECCLESIOLOGY - The Doctrine of the New Testament Church (Part 8)

Our message today continues our Systematic Theology Series in a study of Ecclesiology ~ an examination of the Doctrine of the New Testament Church.    We are once again addressing the matter of the purpose of the Church with a focus on its’ Mission and Ministry. Last week we looked at 3 purposes of the Church which included:   Purpose #1 ~ To Worship Purpose #2 ~ To Nurture Purpose #3 ~ To Purify Itself   And today we will be examining purpose #4 which is about to evangelize the world by sharing the good new of Jesus' incarnational life, His death upon the cross as the sacrificial Lamb of God who died for teh sins of the world, and His miraculous resurrection, ascension and promise to come again! Pastor Mark challenges us to take seriously this Great Commission of Jesus and tells the story of Missionary John Allen Chau who went to the North Sentinel Island in the Andaman Island chain to share the story of Jesus with this unreached people group. Pastor Mark shares how John was a part of his former church and a closer personal friend of his own two children. He reads from John's incredible personal journal revealing his willingness to take the Good News where it has never been heard, even in the face of danger, hostility, and if necessary - death. John was reportedly killed on the North Sentinel Island on November 16, 2018 and his body never recovered. Message #94 - PNEUMATOLOGY - The Person & Work of the Holy Spirit (Part 23)

Today we continue our Systematic Theology Series and the study of Pneumatology ~ which is the study of the Holy Spirit of God.   Pastor Mark Geer brings to a close a three-part message on the Fruit of the Holy Spirit. One of the most powerful pieces of evidence of the indwelling Spirit of God in the lives of believers is the character of Christ being formed in us, including love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.   Previously, we introduce the Fruit of the Spirit and contrast it to the works of the flesh listed in Galatians 5:16-26, before examining the first element of the Fruit of the Spirit which is the productivity of love.  And last week we examined the next four elements of the Fruit of the Spirit, including Joy, Peace, Longsuffering and Kindness.    Now today, in our final message, we examine the last four elements of the Fruit of the Spirit, which include Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control. These elements are a product of the character of Christ manifested in our lives by the indwelling Holy Spirit. They produce of rich life of wholesome quality and noble character impacting our daily lives, marriage, family and relationships, as well as producing inner tranquility and abundant joy.   Our desire for this broader study of Systematic Theology for Daily Living is to take a practical look at the study of God and various elements of biblical and spiritual truth which are designed to help us all understand God and draw us nearer to Him as our Creator and to Jesus Christ as our Savior.

Today we continue our Systematic Theology Series and the study of Pneumatology ~ which is the study of the Holy Spirit of God.   Pastor Mark Geer continues our detailed study of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and how these manifestations of God’s Spirit, wisdom and power are intended to empower us in our daily lives, anoint us for church ministry, and emboldened us for service to others in our community. Today we examine the important steps of testing and receiving the gifts of the Spirit. While the Spirit sovereignly chooses whom He will work through and which gifts He will distribute to individual believers, the incarnational nature of these gifts in most cases necessarily involves the engagement of man. At times there can be excess, vain pride, human error, and even selfish motivation. Consequently, God saw fit to inspire Paul to write down various guidelines, disciplines, advice and commands regarding the exercise of the gifts in personal prayer and corporate worship settings.  In today’s message we look at the importance of testing the exercise of the gifts of the Spirit and also several important steps one can take to align themselves spiritually to receive these gifts of the Spirit being manifested in their life.   Our desire for this broader study of Systematic Theology for Daily Living is to take a practical look at the study of God and various elements of biblical and spiritual truth which are designed to help us all understand God and draw us nearer to Him as our Creator and to Jesus Christ as our Savior.
