Rev. Larry Rice and Andrea talk about The New Life Zoa Free Paper, which can help you get to know the homeless personally, and give you inspirational stories as well.

Ashley and Derrick
Rev. Larry Rice
Ashley, Derrick, and Ashley's mom all became homeless. Then her mom died in October 2023. They had been living in the Heritage House when all the pipes broke on all 19 floors of the building, and everyone got put out of the building. Ashley has gone through 4 blood transfusions and 2 iron transfusions. New Life has given them hope and a place to stay.\

Shirley
Rev. Larry Rice
Shirley had to sell everything she had to get her son buried after he died of a massive heartattack. After that she could not pay her rent, and she became homeless. It was after this time (of sleeping in a car) that she found New Life and became part of the team.

Introducing Andrea
Rev. Larry Rice
Andrea came to New Life by way of another ministry that called New Life for her. Andrea came from Poplar Bluff to go to school. Shelter didn't work out, though, because the friend she came with didn't know the restrictions involved, here, got angry, and took off with all of Andrea's belongings.

Debra
Pastor Mark Glenn
Debra suffered physical abuse by her husband (beating her and burning her with cigarettes). She is living in her car, and has an Ex Parte on her husband and is seeking a finalized protection order. She is in a wheelchair, having lost part of her left leg to a 2 year infection. God carries her through. The Veterans Coming Home Center helps her with gas, clothing, food, and prayer.
Seymour
Pastor Mark Glenn
Seymour is in a chair walker, and is in great pain, for which he has already had 4 back surgeries. It is not safe for him to walk, because of his injuries. He is returning to a trust in God. He is a Vet. Mark encourages him through the Gospel and with a mat.
James
Pastor Mark Glenn
A very emotional interview. James is a U. S. Army veteran who, in less than 2 years, lost his foster mom, his biological mom, his dad, and his two children to death. He went to prison, and while there, through the influence of a couple fellow inmates, returned to Jesus (after having blamed Jesus for all those losses). His life changing Scripture is John 15:13, “Greater love hath no man than this: that he lay down his life for his friend.”

Freddie
Pastor Mark Glenn
Freddie was in the hospital for a year and eight months. The doctors said he would never walk again, but God said he would (and you see him on his feet, here). Having seen this miracle, his doctors (formerly atheists) are now Christians.
Garret and Sassy
Pastor Mark Glenn
Garret is gifted with a tent for himself and his dog, Sassy. His life was destroyed by meth addiction. He used to have a house and a couple of cars, but his meth addiction did away with that. He has been sober for 18 days, now. He says the tent will be awesome.
Shariee
Pastor Mark Glenn
Shariee was born with one eye, can no longer walk because of cerebral palsy, but still says Jesus is her Solid Rock, and she loves the inspirational messages from the New Life Evangelistic Center.
Paul Madranno
Pastor Chris Aaron Rice
Paul chose to get out of the violence in the home he was living in down in Texas. He wound up in jail for 10 years for dealing speed. He recently was released from jail. He suffers from depression and suicidal thoughts, but has no money, or insurance, for medication, and the people—in Texas—that owe him money are not paying him anything at all.
Angel
Pastor Chris Aaron Rice
Angel has been suffering from cancer for quite a while, now. She is supposed to be getting chemotherapy but has been resisting that (though she is ready to go through with it, now). She wants a break from the homelessness, but does not want to abandon the people involved in that community.
Angela
Rev. Larry Rice, Pastor Chris Aaron Rice
Angela is homeless because her husband abandoned the family and ran off with another woman. She was sending him money to pay for the house payments, but he was—without telling her—using that money for something else, so the people that were supposed to be getting paid showed up at the door and gave her and her children two hours to pack up and get out.
An older James
12 years ago James was addicted to meth and coke, until he suffered a near-death experience, which God brought him through, back to life.
Arnisa
Arnisa was living pay check to pay check, and then her job ended. She ended up homeless. Living your life putting your whole life into bags is hard. She says her church helped her.
