Romans 1 Part 1

Baruch Korman • Romans 1:1–10

We are going to begin this evening a very significant study. And I'm speaking about beginning the book of Romans for a believer and I want to emphasize that for a believer, there is not a more significant book than the book of Romans. Because the apostle Paul, he lays out so many biblical truths, theological doctrine that you and I must understand, if we're going to walk in this world, that means if we're going to have a testimony before God, that He is well pleased with. So take out your Bible and look with me to that book, Paul's a pistol to the Romans and chapter one. Now, the first thing that we need to realize and as we get more into this book, the early chapters, we will see that Paul makes his points, using much from a Jewish culture. There were many Jewish individuals living in Rome. And fact, one of the things that's unique about the Jewish community in Rome was that they had their own style of prayer that was unique to Rome. And this goes back before the time of Paul, it was a historical community of Jewish individuals.

Romans 1 Part 2

Baruch Korman • Romans 1:11–18

Are you excited to be a servant of God, to carry out God's will not only in your life, but to be an influence upon others to see them as well surrendering to the will of God for them. See, when we are committed to the things that God commands us to do, we're going to experience greater intimacy with God, God's provision is going to be my dear in our life, we're going to be walking under the authority and the anointing of the Holy Spirit. In other words, everything's going to change to change, according to God's personal and private will, for your life. And what I mean by that is this, that God has a purpose for you. And it's for no one else. And God is going to use you as an individual to bring about what God has saved you to do. Now, this may be something that many people don't think about. But God has saved you with a purpose. And that purpose involves his will. And one person who was very committed to this, who rejoice in God's will, who wanted desperately, enthusiastically to be used by God was the Apostle Paul

Romans 1 part 3

Baruch Korman • Romans 1:18–25

Our God is a God of choice, meaning this God gives to every man truth in order that they make a right decision. And what is that right decision? Submitting to the truth? Now many people will say what if someone doesn't know the truth? Well, we're going to see in tonight's study, that God reveals Himself that He is the one true living God. And people they are without excuse, if they do not submit to him. Take out your Bibles and look with me to the book of Romans and chapter one, the book of Romans and chapter one. Now I mentioned choice because as we concluded last week, we saw the emphasis was in God's power. And I'm speaking about that wonderful message of the gospel, the gospel when we receive it, we also receive the power of God through the Holy Spirit. And that power, and His Truth brings about a wonderful change in our life, a change of righteousness, one that comes about because of faith, and faith is believing the revelation of God

Romans 1 Part 4

Baruch Korman • Romans 1:25–32

Every individual has a choice to make. And that concerns their values, how they make decisions, what do they hold as truth and what they reject. And there's a very simple principle, you are either going to accept the Word of God scriptural revelation, to form your values, your judgments, how you make decisions, or you are going to follow the ways of the world, in bracing a worldly perspective. And when we look at things today, we see in regard to the primary issue that we're going to be looking at, in today's scripture, we're going to see that the world is in disagreement with the value, the perspective the judgment of God. And what we're going to be speaking about is not politically correct, but it is truth from heaven. We need to embrace it, if we are followers of Messiah, sure, if we are believers in the one that the world calls Jesus Christ, it is simply incompatible with truth, to accept what God says no to what God says is an abomination. what God says is very dangerous.

Romans 2 Part 1

Baruch Korman • Romans 2:1–10

We've all heard people say, Don't judge me. The Bible commands us judge not less you be judge. So judging someone is very serious. But we need to realize there is a difference between judging someone. And simply evaluating someone's behavior according to biblical truth, and sharing with that person in love, and wanting the very best for that person. So you share something in love. So that person can know the truth and make that change. It's not that you are condemning that person. It's not that your behavior towards that person has changed. But simply you want that person to know the truth, so that God will bless him that is not judging that is evaluating.

Romans 2 Part 2

Baruch Korman • Romans 2:11–16

There's a word that we have heard many times, it appears to out the Bible. And the word is a Hebrew word, and it is the Torah. Now, normally, that term, the Torah is translated into English with the phrase, the law. And we know something today that the law is not enforced. Does that mean that it is not relevant? It has no more significance? It does not. We need to understand something from the position of Judaism and look at what the Rabbi say, and then see if what they say is true, and the conclusion the implications that they have for that. See, this may surprise many of you. But if you look at Orthodox Judaism, and why are we talking only about Orthodox Judaism, because any other expression of Judaism has no authoritative texts, it is only what someone says from that group at that time, it can change there's nothing definite, nothing that is written down that is binding.

Romans 2 Part 3

Baruch Korman • Romans 2:16–29

Each of us were created by God. There are no second class creations, God loves each of us. And He wants us to be a recipient of His love. Now, when we look at the Scripture, we see something, God does not evaluate us by looking at the external, meaning how we look in a mirror how people see us. But the Bible is very clear. It says that God looks to the inner person, to the heart. Why? Because a heart is synonymous with the very essence of a person, how we think, and we know how one thinks is going to dictate how they believe. We need to be an individual, that through the redemption of Messiah, that our mind is change, that we have the mind of Messiah. And when we do, and we don't rebel, we are going to do the works of Messiah.

Romans 3 Part 1

Baruch Korman • Romans 3:1–8

Paul speaks frequently about Jews and Gentiles. At the end of last week's study, he made a very significant statement. And that is, if you take an uncircumcised man, a Gentile, but nevertheless, that individual is sensitive to the Word of God. He listens to his conscience, and he responds in obedience to the Word of God, to the purposes of God. Paul says, even though this one is uncircumcised, God is going to see him as circumcise, meaning a covenantal member of the family of God, he is going to see that right heart as a circumcised heart. And conversely, the Jewish individual, even though according to the letter, according to circumcision, they are a covenant member. But here's the problem

Romans 3 Part 2

Baruch Korman • Romans 3:8–20

When it comes to humanity, I am speaking about both Jew and Gentile. We all have something in common, left to ourselves, we are heading for experiencing the wrath of God. Now we learned last week, is there an advantage for having the Torah? Yes, there is. It is God's revelation. And therefore with that, we can have a greater understanding of what one needs to do. But the Torah itself, as we'll see later on, the Torah is not an instrument that brings about redemption. It doesn't change our spiritual condition. And that's true. Jew or Genta, we left to ourselves are in the same situation. We are heading for God's wrath. And in regard to humanity. There's only one way and I want to emphasize that fact. There's only one way if there's any other way that we experience God's forgiveness, His mercy, that we can enter into a relationship with Him and be received into His Kingdom.

Romans 3 Part 3

Baruch Korman • Romans 3:20–31

One of the most important things that God has ever done is that he has justified those who receive the gospel. And that justification is forever because of the sufficiency and even we can say the perfection of messiahs work, he was successful, and therefore we receive the eternal benefits. Take out your Bible and look with me to the book of Romans and chapter three. In this passage, Paul is going to make a very clear case for rightly understanding the law and how one is justified. Now, in the biblical language, there is a relationship between being justified and being righteous. In the New Testament language, Greek, it is the same word. S

Romans 4 Part 1

Baruch Korman • Romans 4:1–12

As believers in Messiah, we know something, we know that one is justified not by good deeds, but rather by faith. Now, what may be surprising to some is this. They think that that is Revelation only from the New Testament meaning this until you're sure that his Jesus Christ came, and the apostles, that concept of being justified by faith was was non existent. But when we look properly at the Word of God, we see that being justified by faith was something that did not originate in the New Testament. But in the Old Testament, specifically, in what's called the Torah. The Torah is the first five books of the Old Testament.

Romans 4 Part 2

Baruch Korman • Romans 4:13–25

God has a wonderful promise for you and every human being. And the reason why No, it is because God tells us that this promise is for humanity. And what is this promise, it's a promise of forgiveness, that God will forgive you. And it doesn't matter who you are, what you have done, how bad you may have messed up in your life, God can forgive that. He wants to forgive that. And his son made it a possibility. And the great thing about this promise is this. Not only will he forgive you, but he will bring you into his kingdom and eternal Kingdom, where you will dwell forever and ever in the presence of God. And that kingdom of God. It's a marvelous, wonderful, perfect place where you will be enjoying forever and ever, the promises and the blessings of God. Now you hear that? And obviously, one would think this. What's the catch? What is it that I have to do? What is this going to cost me? What is it that I have to achieve? The good news is this you can't pay for. And it's not what you do in the sense of achieving or performing. The Bible reveals it is a free gift.

Romans 5 Part 1

Baruch Korman • Romans 5:1–11

Have you been reconciled to God? And if so, how would you know that? Well, that's exactly what the Apostle Paul is going to teach us into see evening study. So with that said, take out your Bible, and Luke with me to the book of Romans and chapter five, the book of Romans and chapter five. Now, in these first 11 verses that we're going to study, we're going to see foundational truth. That is truth that every believer, if he has a hope, of being brought into the kingdom of God, and experiencing God's presence for eternity, and knowing the promises and the blessings of God, such a person must affirm and agree with what Paul is sharing in this passage. So we're going to be looking at basic truth in regard to justification, reconciliation, salvation, and experiencing God's glory.

Baruch Korman • Romans 6:1–11

We come across the concept of baptism primarily in the New Testament. And many people wrongly think that it was John the Baptist, that kind of invented it. But this was not the case. When we look at the biblical backgrounds, that is the history of Judaism, and I'm speaking about biblical Judaism, what's recorded. In the Old Testament, we find that there are hints to things that were done by the priests and the Levites, prior to serving God, and what was that they would wash themselves. And that washing was indeed, a baptism. See, we know as believers, that baptism pictures, the death, burial, and resurrection of Messiah, that is true. But baptism was also something that was done by priests and Levites, and others, in order to be used by God. It involves a change of status from that which was common or normal, we might use that word from that which is set apart for a holy purpose.
