“He will keep him in perfect Peace... whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts You” - Isaiah 26:3
It’s easy to read that and give it a passing ‘yes and amen’ (because we’ve seen or heard it quoted many times before). But it’s actually impossible…unless... “with God nothing is impossible.”
However, God’s impossible rarely manifests to a passing ‘yes and amen.’ Remember how the light bulb needed Edison to get past its impossibility?
Today, the onslaught against you and me of having anything close to ‘peace’ (forget about it being perfect) is overwhelming. In fact, it is downright impossible.
Stop for a moment and just let all the opposite of ‘peace’ in your life slap you in the face right now. It’s not unlike yielding to a tornado. Stay there for a little while.
Now try to ‘peace’ yourself. Make it all go away and just have ‘perfect peace.’ In and of ourselves, it is impossible. And if you should have a moment of success, notice how quickly it fades. BUT GOD... (I’m so very grateful for that, BUT).
The outrageous Power of those Words destroys every single speck of all that ‘impossible.’ And all that it requires of us is to ’stop and open’. Stop ’trying’ to deal with, handle, manage, etc., anything, and use His faith-filled words to open your heart - the place where all the impossible stuff is really affecting you. And let His Words (spoken by you) invade your ‘inner man.”
Is He not “in” us? Like Edison, we have to ‘keep on keeping on’. Notice the word ’stayed.’ It means remaining until His Peace is your entire support system. Life will keep on pulling us into all the ‘impossible stuff.’ In this world you will have afflictions (stuff) but take courage (open your heart) because I HAVE OVERCOME.
His Peace is always perfect, and it frees us from trying to trust and empowers us with His perfect Trust. Finally, notice this: “He will keep him (you).” Our job is to ’stay.’ His job is to flood all our ‘impossible stuff’ with His Perfect Peace. Go for it!
