They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Acts 2:42

キリスト教はただの宗教以上のものです。それはまず第一に神との関係です。健康的な関係の土台はコミュニケーションです。コミュニケーションがうまくいけばいくほど、その関係はより良くなります。神はたくさんの方法で私たちに語られますが、第一にみことばである聖書を通して語られます。私たちは祈りを通して神に話します。私たちがみことばを読むとき、神の声を聞く方法を学びます。神は私たちが祈るとき、祈りを聞いてくださいます。私たちは行動をもってみことばに応答します。神は行動をもって私たちの祈りに答えてくださいます。
Christianity is more than just a religion. It is first and foremost a relationship with God. The foundation of any healthy relationship is communication. The better the communication, the better the relationship will be. God talks to us in many ways but primarily through His Word, the Bible. We talk to Him through prayer. We learn to listen to the sound of God's voice in our lives when we read His Word. He listens to us when we pray. We respond to His Word with action. He responds to our prayers with action.

聖書THE BIBLE
聖書は話、詩や書簡を適当に収集したものではなく、神の霊感をもって書かれた神のみことばです。私たちは、神のみことばを食事よりも重んじたヨブの模範に従わなければなりません。
More than just a random collection of stories, poems, and letters, the Bible is the inspired written Word of God. We must follow the example of Job who valued God's Word more than food.

私は神のくちびるの命令から離れず、私の定めよりも、御口のことばをたくわえた。ヨブ23:12
I have not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread. Job 23:12

Before turning to Christ, we lived by the world's standards. Now we accept the Bible as the final authority for what we believe and how we live. God's Word is the ultimate and absolute standard for every area of life.

霊的成長の鍵What is the Key to Spiritual Growth?
新生児が成長するためにミルクを求めるように、新しくクリスチャンになった人も信仰において強く成長するために、神のみことばを求めます。
As newborn babies crave milk and need it to grow, so genuine new Christians crave God's Word and need it to grow strong in faith.

2生まれたばかりの乳飲み子のように、純粋な、みことばの乳を慕い求めなさい。それによって成長し、救いを得るためです。3あなたがたはすでに、主がいつくしみ深い方であることを味わっているのです。Ⅰペテロ2:2-3
2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, 3 now that you have tasted that the Lord is good. 1 Peter 2:2-3

聖書について聞いたり読んだりすればするほど、私たちの信仰はますます成長していきます。
The more we hear or read the Bible, the more our faith will grow.

そのように、信仰は聞くことから始まり、聞くことは、キリストについてのみことばによるのです。ローマ10:17
Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. Romans 10:17

誘惑にどう対抗するかHow can I Resist Temptation?
イエスは、意志の力によってではなく、神のみことばを知り、引用することによって誘惑に対抗しました。私たちも同じように、神のみことばを知り、語ることによって、誘惑との戦いに勝つことができます。
Jesus resisted temptation, not be will power, but by knowing and quoting God's Word. We can win the temptation war the same way, by knowing and speaking God's Word.

3すると、試みる者が近づいて来て言った。「あなたが神の子なら、この石がパンになるように、命じなさい。」4イエスは答えて言われた。「『人はパンだけで生きるのではなく、神の口から出る一つ一つのことばによる』と書いてある。」マタイ4:3-4
3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” 4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘People do not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'” Matthew 4:3-4

頭だけの知識や宗教的事実からは、清さと高潔さは生み出されません。私たちの心の内深くに植えられたみことばによって、私たちは罪から守られるのです。
Head knowledge and religious facts don't produce purity and holiness. The Word planted deep in our hearts will keep us from sin.

9どのようにして若い人は自分の道をきよく保てるでしょうか。あなたのことばに従ってそれを守ることです。11あなたに罪を犯さないため、私は、あなたのことばを心にたくわえました。詩篇119:9,11
9 How can those who are young keep their way pure? By living according to your word... 11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Psalm 119:9,11

成功するにはどうしたらいいのかHow can I be Successful?
神のみことばを思い巡らし、注意深く従うとき、成功は必ずやってきます。従順によって成功がもたらされるのです。
Meditate on God's Word and carefully obey it then success is inevitable. Obedience brings success.

この律法の書を、あなたの口から離さず、昼も夜もそれを口ずさまなければならない。そのうちにしるされているすべてのことを守り行うためである。そうすれば、あなたのすることで繁栄し、また栄えることができるからである。ヨシュア1:8
“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.“ Joshua 1:8

私の人生に対する神のみこころはどのようにわかるのかHow can I Know God's Will for my Life?
神のみことばによって思いを新しくしていく中で、私たちは変革され、神のみこころを理解するようになります。
As we renew our minds by studying God's Word, we will be transformed and we will understand God's will.

この世と調子を合わせてはいけません。いや、むしろ、神のみこころは何か、すなわち、何が良いことで、神に受け入れられ、完全であるのかをわきまえ知るために、心の一新によって自分を変えなさい。ローマ12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2

神のみことばを知っていてもそれを行わないと、どうなるのかWhat Happens if I Know God's Word but Don't do What it Says?
私たちの霊的進歩は、どれだけみことばを知っているかではなく、どれだけそれに従っているかによって測られます。学び続けても従わない人は、自分自身を欺いているのです。
The measure of our spiritual progress is not how much of the Bible we know, but how much we obey. Those who constantly learn but fail to obey end up deceiving themselves.

また、みことばを実行する人になりなさい。自分を欺いて、ただ聞くだけの者であってはいけません。ヤコブ1:22
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. James 1:22

祈りPRAYER
祈りに関して最もすばらしい模範はイエスです。彼の個人的な祈りの生活を見ることによって、天の父と親しい時間を持つことについての重要な原則を学ぶことができます。
Jesus is our best example for prayer. By observing His personal prayer life, we can learn important principles on how to have an intimate time of connection with the Father.

誤った祈り方How are we Not to Pray?
偽善者のように祈ってはいけません。
Do not pray like the hypocrites.

また、祈るときには、偽善者たちのようであってはいけません。彼らは、人に見られたくて会堂や通りの四つ角に立って祈るのが好きだからです。まことに、あなたがたに告げます。彼らはすでに自分の報いを受け取っているのです。マタイ6:5
“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.” Matthew 6:5

異教徒のように祈ってはいけません。
Do not pray like the pagans.

7また、祈るとき、異邦人のように同じことばを、ただくり返してはいけません。彼らはことば数が多ければ聞かれると思っているのです。8だから、彼らのまねをしてはいけません。あなたがたの父なる神は、あなたがたがお願いする先に、あなたがたに必要なものを知っておられるからです。マタイ6:7-8
7 “And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.” Matthew 6:7-8

正しい祈り方How are we to Pray?
マリアや聖人や天使にではなく、天の父に祈ります。
Pray to the Father, not to the mother, saints, or angels.

あなたは、祈るときには自分の奥まった部屋に入りなさい。そして、戸をしめて、隠れた所におられるあなたの父に祈りなさい。そうすれば、隠れた所で見ておられるあなたの父が、あなたに報いてくださいます。マタイ6:6
“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” Matthew 6:6

天の父への唯一の道である、イエスを通して祈ります。
Pray through Jesus. He is the only way to the Father.

神は唯一です。また、神と人との間の仲介者も唯一であって、それは人としてのキリスト・イエスです。1テモテ2:5
For there is one God and one mediator between God and human beings, Christ Jesus, himself human... 1 Timothy 2:5

何のために祈ることができるのかWhat can we Pray for?
自分の人生、家族、教会、町、国、そして全世界に神様のみこころがなるように祈ります。
God's will to be done ... in your life, in your family, in your church, in your city, in your nation, in the whole earth.

御国が来ますように。みこころが天で行われるように地でも行われますように。マタイ6:10
“... your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10

備え―個人、また家族の必要が満たされるために祈ります。
Provision ... personal and family needs to be met.

私たちの日ごとの糧をきょうもお与えください。マタイ6:11
“Give us today our daily bread.” Matthew 6:11

赦し―神からの赦しを受け取り、自分を傷つけた人を赦しましょう。
Forgiveness ... receive forgiveness from God and forgive those who have offended you.

私たちの負いめをお赦しください。私たちも、私たちに負いめのある人たちを赦しました。マタイ6：12
“And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.” Matthew 6:12

誘惑に対する勝利―悪魔の策略から守られるように祈りましょう。
Victory over temptation ... and protection from the devil's schemes.

“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” Matthew 6:13

神は本当に祈りに答えてくださるのかDoes God Really Answer Prayer?
もちろんです!祈りがより具体的であればあるほど、その答えもより具体的になります。秘訣は、神のみこころにかなう祈りをすることです。私たちは神のみことばを知ることによって神のみこころを知ります。ですから、私たちが神のみことばに沿って祈るとき、神がそれに答えてくださることを知るのです。
Absolutely! The more specific the prayers, the more specific the answers will be. The secret is to pray according to His will. We know His will by knowing His Word. Therefore, as we pray according to His Word, we know He will answer.

14何事でも神のみこころにかなう願いをするなら、神はその願いを聞いてくださるということ、これこそ神に対する私たちの確信です。15 私たちの願う事を神が聞いてくださると知れば、神に願ったその事は、すでにかなえられたと知るのです。1ヨハネ5:14, 15
14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of him. 1 John 5:14, 15

"はじめに INTRODUCTION

1974年から1979年にかけて、ロンという長老派の牧師が、私の故郷であるミシシッピー州のジャクソンという町の高校を何度も訪れ、大胆に福音を語りました。聞いてくれる人なら誰にでも、また聞いてくれないような人にも語りました。彼を通して、数えきれないほどの十代の若者が初めて神の救いの計画を耳にし、理解しました。何百人もの人が応答し、その中でたくさんの人が教会開拓者、若者への伝道者、牧師、宣教師としてフルタイムで神に仕える者となりました。 From 1974-1979, a young upstart Presbyterian youth pastor named Ron invaded local high schools in my hometown of Jackson, Mississippi boldly sharing the gospel one-on-one with anyone who would listen, and with some who wouldn’t. Over the years, countless teenagers heard and understood God’s plan of salvation for the first time. Hundreds responded. But it was a difficult task, because he was around the school a lot, always helping various students. Thankfully, he and his band of disciples continued inviting me to their bible studies and church events. Since he was not out to save souls, but to train strong, healthy Christians, his work with me was just beginning. 救い SALVATION

新しいスタートA New Start だれでもキリストのうちにあるなら、その人は新しく造られた者です。古いものは過ぎ去って、見よ、すべてが新しくなりました。2コリント5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17 新しくされる。再出発。もう一度やり直せたら、と思っている人には、嬉しい言葉でしょう。ですが、なぜ自分がやり直さなければならないのか、きちんと理解する必要があります。なぜ私たちは「新しく造られた者」にならなければならないのでしょうか。なぜ救いが必要なのでしょうか。 A new creation. A fresh start. For all of us who have ever wished we could start over, this is good news. However before we can really appreciate this good news, we need to understand exactly why we need to start over. Why do we need to become a “new creation”? Why do we need salvation? 分離Separation 神と人間の間には、はかりしれないほどの隔たりがあります。神と人間の間の永遠の隔たりの原因は罪です。 There is an immeasurable gap separating God and man. The cause of this eternal separation between God and man is sin. 神がすごく遠い存在に感じたことはありませんか。誰しもそう思ったことがあるでしょう。神が遠く感じられることはよくあることです。そのような人の多くは、もっと熱心に黙想すれば、その宗教のことをもっとよく学べば、あるいは、その宗教の建物に足を踏み入れれば、もっと近くに神が感じられるかもしれない、と思いがちです。けれども、神から離れているのは、物理的な問題でも、知的な問題でもないので、黙想も知識もこの場合役に立ちません。では、その原因は何でしょう。 Have you ever felt distant from God? We all have. Feeling far from God is very common. Many who sense this vast separation suppose that if they meditate harder, learn more about their religion, or just step into a religious sanctuary, they would be closer to God. But since our separation from God is not physical or intellectual, neither meditation nor knowledge can bring us any closer to God. What causes the separation between God and man? 1見よ。主の御手が短くて救えないのではない。その耳が遠くて、聞こえないのではない。2 あなたがたの咎が、あなたがたと、あなたがたの神との仕切りとなり、あなたがたの罪が御顔を隠させ、聞いてくださらないようにしたのだ。イザヤ59:1, 2 1 Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. 2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. Isaiah 59:1, 2 神と人間の間の隔たりは道徳的なものです。神は聖なる方ですが、人間はそうではありません。神は良い方ですが、人間は違います。神は正しいですが、人間は正しくありません。すべての人が罪を犯しました。ですから、すべての人が永遠に神から離れて、永遠の死という罪の結果に苦しむのです。 The separation between God and man is a moral separation. God is holy; man is not. God is good; man is not. God is just; man is not. All men have sinned; therefore, all are eternally separated from God. All will suffer the consequences of sin, which is eternal death. すべての人は、罪を犯したので、神からの栄誉を受けることができず・・・。ローマ3:23 http://...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God... Romans 3:23 罪から来る報酬は死です。しかし、神の下さる賜物は、私たちの主キリスト・イエスにある永遠のいのちです。ローマ6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 解決策Solution 神の捧げ物と身代わりGod’s Sacrifice and Substitution 神はその正義により、人間の罪をつぐなう捧げ物を求めておられます。イエス・キリストがその捧げ物となり、十字架において私たちの罪の代価を払ってくださったのです。 The justice of God demands a sacrifice for man’s sin. Jesus Christ became that sacrifice and paid the penalty for our sin at the cross. 神はきよく、道徳的に正しく、公正な方なので、罪を見逃すことはされません。でも同時に、愛にあふれ、慈悲深い方ですから、すべての人が永遠にご自分から離れていることは我慢ならないのです。この問題に対して神のくださった解決方法は、神のひとり子であるイエスを、私たちの罪のいけにえとして与えることでした。 Since God is holy, righteous, and just, He could not allow sin to go unpunished. Since He is loving and compassionate, he did not want all of mankind to be eternally separated from Him. The divine solution to this problem was for Jesus, God’s only Son, to become the sacrifice for sin. 26...しかしキリストは、ただ一度、今の世の終わりに、ご自身をいけにえとして罪を取り除くために、来られたのです。27そして、人間には、一度死ぬことと死後にさばきを受けることが定まっているように、28キリストも、多くの人の罪を負うために一度、ご自身をささげられましたが、二度目は、罪を負うためではなく、彼を待ち望んでいる人々の救いのために来られるのです。へブル9:26-28 26... But he has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27 Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, 28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. Hebrews 9:26-28 十字架で何が起こったのでしょう。十字架の死によって、イエスは私たちの身代わりとなり、私たちが受けるべきだった罰を受けてくださいました。神はご自分の正しさを、私たちの罪と交換してくださったのです。私たちの呪いを取り去り、祝福をくださったのです。イエスは罪の全くない人生をおくった方なので、人間の罪の報いを代わりに受け、神と人間の間の溝を橋渡しすることのできる唯一相応しい方でした。 What exactly happened on the cross? Through His death on the cross, Jesus took our place and our punishment. He exchanged His righteousness for our sin. He took our curse and gave us His blessings. The penalty for sin is eternal separation from God in hell. God is just and must punish sin. He is also loving and does not want us to go to hell forever. Therefore, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty for sin by dying on the cross. Because of His sinless life, death could not hold Jesus. He was raised from the dead on the third day. In Christ, we experience forgiveness for our sins and eternal life. It is based on what Jesus did for us on the cross. It has nothing to do with what we do for Him. We cannot save ourselves or earn God’s approval through the good works we do.
