- Giving must not be done publicly in order to draw attention to ourselves.

- Giving must be done discreetly in order to glorify God alone.

- Intellectual knowledge alone does not bring eternal life. - A surrendered life points to Jesus. - The authority of Jesus demands a response.

- Lip service alone does not bring eternal life. - Remarkable works alone do not bring eternal life.

- False teachers exist and desire to harm the church. - Engaged followers of Jesus must recognize and confront false teachers.
