Jesus teaches that when he returns as the rightful and reigning king people will be divided into two surprising categories: those who love their brother with simple and sacrificial acts of kindness, and those who do not. Often, we misunderstand this teaching to be about social justice and a disposition towards the poor and needy of the world (a noble and biblically endorsed reality), but Jesus’ teaching here is much narrower.
A Great Encouragement And An Urgent Appeal!
June 23, 2024 • Dr. Jorge Salazar • Matthew 25:31–46
Think about how many injustices you have seen throughout your life. The conversations you’ve had around the table about wickedness, hatred, real sweet people who suffer horrors, intelligent, brilliant people who could run the world but live in extreme poverty… just thinking of this could get us depressed!
But even in our own life, we have come to the Lord in prayer multiple times asking for His intervention when things are happening in a way that we know is wrong and that we shouldn’t be experiencing.
Well, I have great news for you! This morning our Lord Jesus will give us a great encouragement and, for those who are comfortable in their enmity with God, Jesus will give them an urgent appeal.
The Great Divorce
June 23, 2024 • Pastor Chris Ross • Matthew 25:31–46
Jesus teaching on the parable of the sheep and the goats and final judgment presents problems for modern listeners, both theological and emotion. To be sure this story of what C.S. Lewis called “the Great Divorce” is sobering but it also contains surprising encouragements for followers of Jesus.
Ministry to The Least of These
June 23, 2024 • Matt Shantz • Matthew 25:31–46
Jesus identifies so intimately with His followers that to serve them is to serve Jesus. In fact, love for Christ’s church is evidence of love for Christ; so much so that when He comes again He will be able to separate the righteous from the unrighteous on the evidence of how they treated “the least of these”.
Good and Faithful Servants
June 9, 2024 • Pastor Jonathan Neufeld • Matthew 25:14–30
Jesus tells his disciples a parable to help them to understand how they can be prepared for his return. We are called to use our gifts as a reflection of God’s character that we can bring him glory. As we eagerly anticipate his return, we are called to be faithful servants with what God has entrusted to us.
Do You Have A Hidden Talent?
June 9, 2024 • Pastor Eldon Fehr • Matthew 25:14–30
Jesus has entrusted His people with many things that He expects will be invested in His kingdom, for its growth. The question is, “Will the church be found faithful as we wait for His return?”
Making It Count
June 9, 2024 • Ernie Charlton • Matthew 25:14–30
We have been entrusted with valuable truth; the Gospel. How are we using the abilities and opportunities in life to proclaim this message of hope.
Good and Faithful
June 9, 2024 • Pastor Kurtus Niessen • Matthew 25:14–30
God has entrusted every single one of you with at least one talent: your life. What does your use, misuse, or lack of use of that talent (your life) say about your relationship with Jesus? Remember, Jesus is coming back to settle all of His accounts. So ask yourself, “When my number gets called, will I hear Jesus say ‘Well done, good and faithful servant?’ for what I’ve done with what has been entrusted to me?”
Living Ready
June 2, 2024 • Pastor Jeremy Isaak • Matthew 25:1–13
No one likes the feeling of running late for a date or being unprepared for a meeting. Often our tardiness or lack of preparation can have negative consequences. In Matthew 25:1-13 Jesus calls us to be ready for the most important of meetings: the time when we meet him face to face at his return. Jesus invites all to know him personally now, because if we wait too long, it may be too late.
How To Be Found Ready
June 2, 2024 • Pastor Matt Shantz • Matthew 25:1–13
Throughout Matthew 24-25 Jesus makes the same point a number of times and that can only mean one thing: There is an important truth that we are otherwise apt to ignore or forget. What is the big idea? We don’t know when but the return of Jesus is imminent and we are to be found ready. This sermon explores what preparation and readiness looks like in the Christian life.

Readiness & Wisdom As Our Lord Returns
May 26, 2024 • Dr. Jorge Salazar • Matthew 25:1–13
Jesus used the analogy of a thief who enters the home when no one expects, he used the analogy of two servants, one who was found working and being responsible and one who was irresponsible and a hypocrite, the good servant was rewarded and the irresponsible was severely punished. In Jesus’ next breath we read the parable of the ten virgins, a parable connected to the second coming of our Lord, a parable that insists on the readiness and preparedness of the children of God as we await the return of our King.
The Lord has important things to tell us that will revolutionize how we live the rest of our days on this side of eternity and the scope we’ll have on our own walk with Christ will be a lot different.
Are You Ready?
April 28, 2024 • Guest Speaker: Rich Kopanke • Matthew 24:36–51
If you've been a Christian for a while then you've probably heard a sermon or two on the theme of Jesus' second coming...but how much does that teaching actually affect your life? Does it alter the value that you place on certain things? Does it cause you to think twice before choosing things which are contrary to God's values? In this passage Jesus drives home both the need to be prepared...and the danger of becoming complacent with this age-old teaching.
How To Wait For Christ's Return
April 28, 2024 • Dr. Jorge Salazar • Matthew 24:36–51
We don’t like waiting and our patience gets exhausted quickly. However, for those who are in Christ, the waiting for His return brings great blessings and an immeasurable joy. Today, as we study this passage, we’ll learn what is expected of us as we wait for the certain return of our Lord and Saviour.
The Faithful Servant
April 28, 2024 • Matt Boettcher • Matthew 24:36–51
As we look at the world around us we can be overcome with a sense of uncertainty, however scripture tells us that Jesus' return is most certainly... certain. Using parables and taking a look back to Noah, Jesus is urging his disciples to be vigilant and ready for His triumphant return. We must be prepared, for His coming will be sudden, and upon His return, may Jesus find us living as His faithful servants.
