As much as we tend to look at the Old Testament as bloody and judgmental, God displayed His mercy and grace in ways that are often overlooked. While there were times when He carried out judgment on wicked men - He is a just God after all - He also showed kindness and patience repeatedly as He worked with Israel and their inclination to rebel. As Pastor Dan will point out in today’s message, even in the structure of His tabernacle, God points to His merciful, forgiving nature, not His judgment.

Have you ever noticed how much something like smoking can affect every aspect of someone’s life? They always have to be able to step outside every few minutes. Not only does it impact their ability to socialize and be a part of things, but everything they have smells like smoke, there’s no escaping it! Ministry is defined as the spiritual work or service of Christians. That being said, what do you think is the highest form of ministry? Could it be serving people in a soup kitchen, or going on a missions trip to a third-world country? In today’s message, he proposes prayer is the highest ministry for a follower of Christ to participate in. Prayer is the only thing the disciples asked Jesus to teach them.

If you’ve ever tried to start a new workout plan or change the way you eat, you know it’s not a one-time decision, you have to make a consistent effort. Eating healthy and working out one day is a good start but won’t really make a difference. As Pastor Dan reminds you in today’s message, following Jesus is the same way. You have to decide to follow Jesus daily! You have to decide to be the “burnt offering” every day, not once a week or a year. That creates a pattern of sacrificing for the Lord.
