Exodus 29

May 16, 2024 • Pastor Dan Sexton

If you’ve ever tried to start a new workout plan or change the way you eat, you know it’s not a one-time decision, you have to make a consistent effort. Eating healthy and working out one day is a good start but won’t really make a difference. As Pastor Dan reminds you in today’s message, following Jesus is the same way. You have to decide to follow Jesus daily! You have to decide to be the “burnt offering” every day, not once a week or a year. That creates a pattern of sacrificing for the Lord.

Have you ever caught someone doing something they shouldn’t? Maybe they were stealing from you or someone you know, or in some way harming you or someone else. Were you able to forgive them? Even if you said you did, did you really? In today’s message, Pastor Dan explains how no matter what you do against God, He will always forgive you without question. That doesn’t mean you can go around sinning and committing atrocities with no repercussions, God will forgive, but He also punishes.

Have you ever made a mistake at work and then had to swallow your pride and ask your boss for a second chance? There may have been a time when you asked and didn’t get one. How many times have you asked God for a second, third, fourth… tenth chance? He must’ve given it to you or you wouldn’t have the opportunity to ask for another. In today’s message, Pastor Dan explains how even when the Israelites messed up and didn’t ask for another chance, God extended one to them!

There are people who seem to never get enough of God’s word or His presence. They live their lives with a committed focus on serving Him and knowing Him. In today’s message, Pastor Dan reminds us of Joshua, who did not want to leave the presence of God. He says most people do not have a desire to seek God or to enjoy His presence, but Joshua did. We can be as close to God as we desire. The depth and closeness of the relationship we have with God is up to us. We have unlimited riches in Christ.
