How to Walk Away From a Toxic Relationship (Part 1)

January 28, 2024 • Pastor Asa Dockery

"How to Walk Away From a Toxic Relationship" -Samson allowed Delilah to sale him out to the enemies of Israel because he tolerated a toxic relationship. David committed adultery and murder, even though he was a man after the heart of God, because he tolerated a toxic relationship. If Christians allow self to rule our hearts, we are allowing self to also rule our lives through a toxic relationship with it. Self is used by Satan to rob Christians of our spiritual inheritance, authority, and liberty. Jesus was sent to liberate us from toxic relationships and to offer us a holy relationship with Him.

"Letting Go of the Past" -As Christians, we can't do the same things the same way and expect our lives to be different. There has to be a transformation that takes place in our hearts. To override our human weaknesses, God has given to every person the measure of faith. To override our ways so that we can please the Father, He has given us His truth. As we obey the truth of God by faith, God will reveal the error of our ways so that we can be transformed. All we need to do is OBEY the Holy Spirit. It's that easy!

"There are Two Offers on the Table" (Part 2)

"There are Two Offers on the Table" -There is a spiritual war taking place over your soul. This war is between you and your desires (lusts). Even though we are in a war with Satan over our soul, Jesus has already won that war and His victory is forever secure. The war that we are engaged in now has to do with who will win our soul, Jesus or Satan. We war with our own desires for pleasure, but if we would submit our hearts to God, He would give us the desires of our hearts. What are you building your life upon, the Rock or sand?
