A Controlled Burn (Part 1)

February 25, 2024 • Pastor Asa Dockery

"A Controlled Burn" -It's amazing to read the story where Moses saw a bush that was engulfed in flames, but it wasn't destroyed. Throughout the Old Testament, God appeared to His people as fire. The writer of Hebrews declares that our God is a consuming fire. How is it that God's fire can be inside of His children and we not be consumed? The fire of God is given to preserve us, not destroy us.

Drawing the Wrong Conclusions about Jesus (Part 2)

February 18, 2024 • Pastor Asa Dockery

"Drawing the Wrong Conclusions about Jesus" -John writes that Jesus came to His own people and they did not receive Him. Even though Jesus taught like no other teacher and performed countless miracles in their midst, the Jews refused to believe He was God's Son. Repeatedly, the Jews came to the wrong conclusions about Jesus. Until Jesus is revealed to believers, we won't always understand His sayings. Even though God is our heavenly Father, we don't understand all of His ways. However, once the Holy Spirit reveals the spiritual truth to believers, we will know our God and be strong in our walk of faith.

How to Walk Away From a Toxic Relationship (Part 2)

February 4, 2024 • Pastor Asa Dockery

"How to Walk Away From a Toxic Relationship" -Samson allowed Delilah to sale him out to the enemies of Israel because he tolerated a toxic relationship. David committed adultery and murder, even though he was a man after the heart of God, because he tolerated a toxic relationship. If Christians allow self to rule our hearts, we are allowing self to also rule our lives through a toxic relationship with it. Self is used by Satan to rob Christians of our spiritual inheritance, authority, and liberty. Jesus was sent to liberate us from toxic relationships and to offer us a holy relationship with Him.

Discover the Pitfall of Freewill (Part 2)

January 21, 2024 • Pastor Asa Dockery

"Discover the Pitfall of Freewill" -All humans are born into the world as sinners and we all know the consequences of sin. Nevertheless, God has sent Jesus to save us from our sins. Once we are born again, Satan doesn't give up on his relentless attacks against our soul. He seeks to destroy our faith in God through physical and emotional pain. Perhaps, you're having to endure a very painful and prolonged season in your life. Perhaps, you're considering backing away or telling God that you've had enough and you want to quit. If so, God has a word of assurance for you.

January 7, 2024 • Pastor Asa Dockery

"Are You Tired of Waiting on God?" -If you are weary of waiting on God, God has a word for you. The enemy seeks opportunities to wear Christians down so that we don't stand as firmly against him. If you are on the brink of giving up because the Lord hasn't come through for you, listen to this word before you act on your impulses.

Go to the Source for Yourself (Part 2)

December 11, 2023 • Pastor Asa Dockery

"Go to the Source for Yourself" -No person on earth has to die in their sins. Jesus has purchased our redemption from sin so that we can become children of God and have eternal life. Even so, there will be many souls that will suffer for eternity because they chose to listen to lies rather than seek the truth for themselves. Hearsay could possibly be one of the main reasons why so many will lose their souls. All that is needed to correct this is to go to God for ourselves and hear the truth from Him.

Discover Your Safe Place (Part 2)

November 27, 2023 • Pastor Asa Dockery

"Discover Your Safe Place" -Even though Christians are in the world, we are not of the world or its ways. God has given us a glimpse of what it means to not be a part of the world when He poured out the plagues on Egypt. The Egyptians suffered greatly, but the Jews in Goshen were kept safe. Even when the Lord allowed the first-born of the Egyptians to die, the Jews' children and animals were protected by the blood over the doorposts. We can exist in this world with all its troubles and not be consumed. We're being kept in a "safe place" in Christ.
