On Good Friday we look back to a specific time in the life of Jesus. We recall what took place on that Friday between 9:00am & 3:00pm when Jesus was nailed to a Roman cross and hung there for 6-hours... FOR YOU!!! Today we honor Him by remembering the POWER of the Cross!

The Measurement of My Love

The Gospel of Luke highlights the humanity of Christ and in this section we’re studying today, we see Jesus speaking to religious criticism. Jesus teaches those who are with him by using an illustration that highlights the lack of love thru a critical spirit. Critical people often come from the backgrounds of verbal abuse or emotional abuse and become deeply selfish, which is what we see of Simon the Pharisee. However, any view that rejects the wonderful work of God and discounts the evidence of a changed life is working on the wrong team!

Finding Joy (Pt. 2)

The book of Philippians is a book that emphasizes joy in the Christian life. It’s easily seen as the main theme through the book. Paul consistently expresses it himself and instructs his readers to experience it personally. It’s true we have much to be thankful for, but the pace at which we run is so fast, the pressure of which we face is so great, and the pain which we experience is so deep. Our joy is often stolen. We’re led to search for joy and happiness that will last by way of possessions, vacations, or social connection. Not many of us today can sit here in this church and confidently say, no matter what we’re going thru “We’re rejoicing or joyful!”. But Paul teaches in Philippians how we can find joy through the difficulty.

A Heathy Team

2 Timothy was written by Paul in a jail cell in Rome and was sent to Timothy to help him lead the church. Because his tendency was to be timid when opposition hit. So he encourages him to be strong and to raise up faithful men who can add to the ministry team. Paul then gives three examples to illustrate how Timothy and the church were to move forward in the last days.
