All of God's Armor

November 12, 2017 • George Hulse

Where do we find our daily strength to live out this supernatural spiritual life of following Jesus together? We find our strength in His mighty power-- we are dependent creatures for the power we need. And what is that power? The Holy Spirit empowers us to be Christ’s witnesses! So, be filled with the Holy Spirit! That is the key to living this life of following Jesus together. That is the battle and that is the call. In this sermon, we will see all of the armor given to us by God for all that we need to live victoriously.

Be Strong

November 5, 2017 • George Hulse

This week will bring us to the pinnacle of our series in Ephesians, ‘Stand Strong.’ For the next 3 weeks we will learn the lessons of Ephesians 6:10-20 and what it means to be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. We'll also learn what it means to put on the full armor of God in order to stand against the enemy and walk in the victory of Jesus Christ that is already ours. This is the time to fight for your participation in worship with us and your adherence to your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The time is now to learn to fight well in the heavenly realms.

The Household Built on Bedrock

October 29, 2017 • George Hulse

What a great week this will be to talk together about the household that is built on the bedrock of God’s Word! As we are in a series that is all about how to stand strong, there is a clear call to know where we stand on the issues of family, marriage, parenting and running a house. Ephesians 5:22-6:9 is the definitive passage for taking a look at the household following Jesus, and we will have a great time this Sunday doing just that!

Walk as People of Light

October 22, 2017 • George Hulse

Ephesians has been teaching us to Stand Strong in our faith and fight well in the battle! Last week we committed ourselves to using our words not to injure or offend but rather to build up and give grace to others. This week we will learn to live in the new light of our lives- the light of Christ. Ephesians 5:1-20 will call us to make the most of our opportunities as we live as 'Light in the Lord!'

Walk NOT Like This

George Hulse

It is not often that we hear a message about what NOT to do, but this week we will! As we all battle our old self, our old sinful nature, we are all called to put off the old ways, habits and attitudes of our former life outside of Christ. This is a battle indeed! And the most vulnerable person in a battle is the one who doesn’t think they are in one. So, let us raise our awareness this Sunday in Ephesians 4:17-32 to see how NOT to walk in this new life we have in Christ. Let us INSTEAD walk as dear children of our gracious God in truth, tempered, in giving and in gracious words for one another. In short, let us learn to live in unity and build each other up along the way.

Prayers for Empowerment

October 1, 2017 • Jon Krist

This week we continue Part 2 of Standing Strong in Prayer! Paul’s section of prayers within Ephesians (3:14-21) pulls us into the magnitude and gravity of the Father’s, love for us. When considering it all, it literally causes Paul to fall to his knees. If we want to live the life we were created for, we must grab ahold of God’s great love for us, each and every day. Paul prays that we understand, “how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is." It changes everything!

Root Level Prayer

September 24, 2017 • Seth Ebel

To be prayer-less is to be power-less. This Sunday we will study an incredible prayer recorded by the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 1:15-23. While praying for "surface level outcomes" is not discouraged, Paul’s prayer leads us to consider how deep, root-level prayer, carries a dynamic power and weight. As you read the passage ask yourself, “How would my prayer life change if I focused on the things Paul focuses on in these verses?” May we be those who stand strong in prayer, not simply asking God for outcomes, but praying specifically and strategically into the root issues of our hearts and lives.

Stronger Together

It can be shocking to us when we see how completely God has loaded us up on everything we need to feel secure and empowered for this Christian life. This week will be more of the same as we look at our position in Christ. We will shift our focus to see how we've gone from being dead in our sins to being made alive in Christ. Further, that has seated us in some pretty lofty places— raised with Him and enthroned with Him! Certainly our standing in Christ will help us to stand strong for Christ and to shine His light for our culture. I hope you will join us for an encouraging message regarding our position in Christ.

Stand Strong on your Blessings

September 10, 2017 • George Hulse

I am so excited to start this new series with you called Ephesians: Stand Strong! Ephesians was the first ever Bible letter we studied when we began The Shoreline Church. It is one of my favorite letters in all of the Bible and I know you're going to love it too. This week we will see from chapter 1 how blessed we are with every spiritual blessing and how strong that helps us stand in our faith. -George
