Do you have those people in your life that you try to avoid because they always want something from you? Whenever they call, you know they want something, so you let it go to voicemail. Or you'll see them in public and pretend that you don't see them because you know they will want something. Sometimes, we treat God that way.
We want God's blessings but don't want to surrender ourselves completely to Him. We're afraid that He might ask us to do something we don't want to do. It reminds us of what it might have been like during the first Christmas story.
