Living Wisely in 2024

December 31, 2023 • Dr. Larry Greene • Ephesians 5:15–18

TAP "NOTES" TO TAKE, SAVE, AND SHARE YOUR OWN NOTES   2023 will soon be a closed book—deposited on the shelf of time; it will not be taken down again until God opens the volumes of the ages for His final review and judgment. There is nothing we can do about 2023, but we can decide to make some alterations going into 2024. Today’s passage reveals that no matter what the new year brings, we must choose to live wisely. There are four characteristics of living wisely in 2024.   1. Be careful how you walk, v. 15. 2. Make the most of your time, v. 16. 3. Know God’s will for your life, v. 17. 4. Be controlled by the Spirit, v. 18.   The important issue is NOT what 2024 will bring upon you. The crucial issue is what you will bring into 2024.

Jesus Has the Last Word

April 9, 2023 • Dr. Larry Greene • Revelation 1:10–20

TAP NOTES TO TAKE, SAVE, OR SHARE YOUR OWN NOTES On Good Friday Satan, the religious leaders, and all of Jesus’ enemies thought they had the last word. After all, Jesus was dead and buried. But not so! He has risen and He lives forevermore! Jesus has the last word. We are not gathered together on this Easter Sunday in memory of a dead leader but in celebration of a living Lord and Savior! Jesus did not give the last word in the gospels. Instead, some 60 years later, John heard His voice again. In Revelation chapter one there are four effects of Jesus’ last words.   · Jesus’ last words inspire _____, vv. 10-17a. · Jesus’ last words instill _____, vv. 17b-18. · Jesus’ last words initiate _____, v. 19. · Jesus’ last words inform _____, v. 20.   In life, you may feel helpless, but because of the resurrection, you are never hopeless!

Triumphal Truths

April 2, 2023 • Dr. Larry Greene • Matthew 21:1–11

The day we know as Palm Sunday was a defining moment in Israel’s history. On this day, Jesus officially and formally presented Himself to the nation of Israel as their King. The nation’s rejection of Jesus has marked her history ever since. This Palm Sunday can be a defining moment in your life. Three triumphal truths from the first Palm Sunday can mark your life from now on.   · God’s purposes will be accomplished. · God’s promises will be fulfilled. · God’s people will be identified.   How will this Palm Sunday define your life?

The Savior's Star

December 25, 2022 • Larry Greene • Matthew 2:1–12, Philippians 1:14–18

TAKE, SAVE, OR SEND YOUR OWN NOTES BY TAPPING "NOTES" BELOW One of the most enduring symbols of Christmas is the star followed by the wise men. It is a rather mysterious object. Because the star moved, some believe it to be a comet. However, a comet would not have generated the interest this star did because the magi were, in all probability, Persian astronomers. I believe the Savior’s star was likely a uniquely created heavenly body for a specific purpose. We read about it in Matthew chapter two and discover the Savior’s star, then and now. ¨ The Savior’s star — then, Matthew 2:1-12. ¨ The Savior’s star — now, Philippians 2:14-18. Will you “shine” like a star in the sky this Christmas?

How to Be a Blessed Person

August 14, 2022 • Pastor Rob Reed • Psalm 1

TAP "NOTES" TO FILL IN THE BLANKS & TAKE/SAVE/SEND YOUR OWN NOTES I. The blessed person __________ ungodly advice, v. 1 The blessed do not become __________ with the way of sinners. The blessed do not become __________ with the attitude of sinners. II. The blessed person uses the __________ well, v. 2 The blessed person __________ in the Bible. The blessed person __________ on the Bible. III. Why __________ on God’s Word and reject wicked counsel, vv. 3-6 To stand in __________. To __________ in God’s plan. IV. Reasons to __________ wicked counsel, vv. 5-6 The wicked do not __________ in the judgment. The righteous __________ in the judgment. Conclusion: The point of this psalm is that the person who stands, both in difficult times and ultimately in the judgment of God, is the Christian who delights in the law of God and meditates on it day and night. Have you trusted in Jesus for the forgiveness of your sin? If you have accepted Christ, what do you delight in? What do you want to think about and talk to yourself about all day long?  Where do you get your advice?

Vs. 6b: “Your blood be on your own head! I am innocent. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.” Paul is saying two things: 1. Acts 20:25-27 We are like watchman on the wall. We are under solemn obligation from God to blow the trumpet, to share the Gospel with others.
