On Good Friday Satan, the religious leaders, and all of Jesus’ enemies thought they had the last word. After all, Jesus was dead and buried. But not so! He has risen and He lives forevermore! Jesus has the last word. We are not gathered together on this Easter Sunday in memory of a dead leader but in celebration of a living Lord and Savior! Jesus did not give the last word in the gospels. Instead, some 60 years later, John heard His voice again. In Revelation chapter one there are four effects of Jesus’ last words.

· Jesus’ last words inspire _____, vv. 10-17a.

· Jesus’ last words instill _____, vv. 17b-18.

· Jesus’ last words initiate _____, v. 19.

· Jesus’ last words inform _____, v. 20.

In life, you may feel helpless, but because of the resurrection, you are never hopeless!

Living Wisely in 2024

There is nothing we can do about 2023, but we can decide to make some alterations going into 2024. Today’s passage reveals that no matter what the new year brings, we must choose to live wisely. There are four characteristics of living wisely in 2024. 1. Be careful how you walk, v. 15. 2. Make the most of your time, v. 16. 3. Know God’s will for your life, v. 17. 4. Be controlled by the Spirit, v. 18. The important issue is NOT what 2024 will bring upon you. The crucial issue is what you will bring into 2024.
