Ep. 421 - Seasons of Waiting
December 23, 2024 • Luke 3:23
MINISTRY MOMENT
Luke 3:23 informs us that Jesus was roughly 30 years old when He began public ministry. I want you to think about that for a moment. That means for 30 years of Jesus' life, He wasn’t “doing” the work of the ministry He was literally sent to the earth to accomplish. In fact, in the Gospels, Jesus was referred to as “the carpenter”, or “the carpenter’s son”, long before He was ever called Lord and Savior. Was this season of Jesus' life a waste? Did He miss the calling of God when He was a teenager and decided to follow in His earthly father’s footsteps and become a carpenter? Not at all! What we see throughout scripture is God molding and shaping His people through seasons of preparation and positioning.
PRAYER POINT
“Father, I thank You for the season of preparation and positioning You have me in. Help me keep my eyes on You, the Author and Perfecter of my faith. Lead me in this season, so I can be even more faithful and fruitful in the future. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
GOING DEEPER
What other stories of preparation can you find in the Bible. Think about Moses, Joshua, Gideon, etc.
WALK IT OUT
