Not if He Arose, But Since He Arose...

March 31, 2024 • David Cotner III • 1 Corinthians 15:14–19

In today’s special Easter message, Pastor Dave will dive into 1 Corinthians 15:12-19. In this section of Scripture, the Apostle Paul is dismantling a serious theological error that was circulating among Christians in Corinth. This theological error took the shape of believing in Christ’s past resurrection, but not believing in the Christians’ future resurrection. Paul makes it very clear that to deny one resurrection is to deny both resurrections. In other words, Paul states that if you say there is no future resurrection of believers then you are simultaneously saying that there was no past resurrection of Jesus. And if Jesus didn’t rise from the dead, well, what does that mean for us today?! That’s what this message is all about…

Contend: A Series Through Jude

February 4, 2024 • David Cotner III • Jude 8–16

In the tiny New Testament letter of Jude, we are encouraged to “contend for the faith” (v. 3). Such an uncomfortable mission is necessary because certain people have invaded the church – “ungodly people” (v. 4). Such people, who have become false teachers in the church, seek to corrupt the church with their specific brand of cancerous unbelief and perversion. And Jude is crystal clear – such people will be judged with “eternal fire” (v. 5-7). But who exactly are these “ungodly people”? What is their personality profile? What makes them tick? That’s what this next section in Jude (v. 8-16) is all about…Welcome to “The Gobs Of Goo That Make Up Ungodly People…”

So, in order to understand these verses, we must make some vital connections from verse 1 all the way down through verse 7. Welcome to “Israelites Destroyed, Angels Chained, & Sodomites Burned, Oh My!” This message is sure to make you think deeply and see clearly. Let’s get to work…

Contend: A Series Through Jude

January 7, 2024 • David Cotner III • Jude 1–4

In today’s message, we enter a five-part series through the New Testament book of Jude. As we do, we discover that the greatest danger to the American Church today has nothing to do with the external threats in our world, but has everything to do with the internal influence of ungodly people and their ungodly philosophies. Such ungodliness has a huge destructive power in the Church and, according to Jude, it seeks to creep into or infiltrate even our local church out here on the prairie. So, what can be done about this potent danger? Join us as we unpack the first 4 verses of this amazing, but often neglected book of Jude!

The Names of God: Discovering The Wonder of God Through The Names of God

November 12, 2023 • Timothy O'Tool

Today we continue our miniseries, "The Names of God: Discovering the Wonder of God Through the Names of God." Join us as we study God's personal name, Yahweh. Last week we learned that though the word "Elohim" often refers to the creator God of heaven and earth, it can also be used for lesser created beings such as angels. The name, Yahweh, is very different because Yahweh is the personal name that God gives himself. More importantly, let's discover the purpose and meaning behind the name, Yahweh.

The Names of God: Discovering The Wonder of God Through The Names of God

November 5, 2023 • Timothy O'Tool

Today we launch our new mini series entitled "The Names of God: Discovering the Wonder of God Through the Names of God" In part one we will tackle the name "Elohim: The God of Creation." It's important to note however that “elohim” is not technically a name but a word referring to a class of powerful beings. Though this is the case, it is not accurate to say that our Elohim is on the same level as any other elohim. Join us as we discover the Wonder of God by seeing his superiority over all His created beings, including all other elohim.

Father Abraham Had Many Sons

October 29, 2023 • Timothy O'Tool • Romans 4:13–25

In last week’s message we saw that, of all our needs in life, righteousness is our greatest need. Today we will be in Romans 14. In this text, Paul points to Abraham as our father. This isn’t because we are all ethnically Jewish but because all those who have faith in Jesus are counted as children of Abraham. This is because Abraham had faith that God counted as righteousness and we too access righteousness by the same means.

October 22, 2023 • Timothy O'Tool • Romans 1

What is a Man?

June 18, 2023 • David Cotner III

In today’s special Father’s Day message, we ask the question, “What Is A Man?” Such a question is absolutely vital to ask and answer as there is no denying the extreme cultural war that is being waged on manhood. Indeed, men in our culture are often viewed as stupid, foolish, and weak. But what is true, biblical manhood; and how might living out the biblical ideal on manhood redeem the sorry image of manhood that is out there in culture? Join us as we dive into the book of Proverbs and extract five thoughts on what it means to be a true, biblical man!
