Unanswered Prayer

Part 2

January 22, 2023 • Dustin Funk • Isaiah 55:8–9, 1 Corinthians 13:12, Hebrews 11:39

This message looks at the mystery of unanswered prayers. This is often our biggest frustration regarding prayer. There seems to be great inconsistency why some are answered and others seem to go ignored. Can we continue to trust our Heavenly Father?

Isaiah 55:8-9

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."

1 Corinthians 13:12

For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

Hebrews 11:39

These [people] were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised.

Teach Us How to Pray

January 15, 2023 • Dustin Funk • Matthew 6:9–13, John 1:12

One day Jesus’ disciples realized that the way Jesus was praying was very different from the way they were taught to pray. They asked a simple question: “Lord, teach us how to pray.” This message explorers Jesus’ teaching on what prayer should look like in our lives. Matthew 6:9-13 "This, then, is how you should pray: 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.' John 1:12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.

Praying Big Prayers

God is not offended by our large prayer requests; he is honoured by them! “Thou are coming to a king, large petitions with thee bring, for his love and power or such that none have ever asked too much” Luke 11:9 So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. - Jesus
