Ruth came to Israel as a foreigner, determined to provide for Naomi. Her trust was in God, but this didn't mean that she just sat around. Instead, she got up and went to the field to pursue the fruits of Israel's harvest. In God's providence, Ruth happened upon the field of Boaz.
