Revelation

The Eternal Danger of a Hard Heart

April 28, 2024 • David Chadwick • Revelation 9:13–21

This Sunday we will continue our verse by verse study of the book of Revelation with the 6th Trumpet Judgment. It's another example of how God hates sin and one day will deal with this Christ-rejecting, selfish, and rebellious world. In this judgment, God gives yet another opportunity for humanity to repent and turn to him.

The Greatest Prison Break Ever

April 21, 2024 • David Chadwick • Revelation 9:1–12

This week we will look at the 5th Trumpet Judgment in Revelation 9:1-12. It gives us great insights into the war we have in the spiritual world and Jesus's ultimate victory over the evil one and his minions.

The Trumpets Start to Blow

April 14, 2024 • David Chadwick • Revelation 8:6–13

This week we will look at Revelation 8:6-13 and the first four of the trumpet judgments. They involve signs and wonders in the world - even some things that closely resemble the eclipse of this past week! Always remember: this is God's world and he can do with it as he wishes. Yes, we need to oversee it with proper stewardship and dominion. But everything in creation is ultimately in the Creator's hands. God hates sin, and he will judge all evil in this world. No injustice escapes his oversight. But always remember: if you are in Christ, love Jesus, and have repented of your sins to serve him, you need not worry about this impending judgment from Jesus. You won't be here when this happens. That's why you need to know him and help your friends and family members know him as well.

The Seventh Seal

March 31, 2024 • David Chadwick • Revelation 8:1–5

In Revelation 8:1-5, we see the seventh seal broken and God's “day of wrath” finally begins. All evil will be eliminated and eradicated. Jesus begins with changing the human heart. One day he will change the entire world.

There's Always Hope

March 24, 2024 • David Chadwick • Revelation 7:9–17

This week we will cover the second half of Revelation 7 - as we take a glimpse into a group of Christians who perished during the Great Tribulation. These “Tribulation Saints” are in heaven worshiping Jesus. In this chapter we find that even amidst the worst of God's judgments, there is always hope.

Who Are the 144,000?

March 17, 2024 • David Chadwick • Revelation 7:1–8

In Revelation 7, John gives us an interlude, as we are introduced to the first group of people who can stand during the day of God's wrath. They are the 144,000 Jews (12,000 from each tribe) who have a seal on their forehead to protect them against the antichrist and his minions. They will bring a revival among the Jews and Gentiles like has never been seen before. Amidst the Great Tribulation, God is still showing grace and mercy, bringing literally thousands, maybe millions, into his kingdom.

The Great Day of the Lord Arrives

March 10, 2024 • David Chadwick • Revelation 6:9–17

This week we continue with Jesus opening two more seals of the scroll (Revelation 6:9-17). The great day of the Lord finally arrives. We see God's judgment upon the sinfulness of creation and humanity. It's a sobering message for all Christians, one that should motivate us to ask who our Lord wants us to reach out to and share the gospel - before it's too late.

Now It Begins

March 3, 2024 • David Chadwick • Revelation 6:1–8

This Sunday, we move from worship in heaven to God's judgment on earth. Jesus is going to deal with the rebellion of the nations against him through the ages.  We will be introduced to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and the judgment each rider on different color horses brings to the world. I think there's one way to avoid this terror: accept Jesus.

Another Glimpse of Glory

February 25, 2024 • David Chadwick • Revelation 5

Chapter 5 in Revelation is a continuation of the worship that John described in Chapter 4. We get another glimpse into the throne room of heaven and the profound worship that is happening.

A Glimpse of Glory

February 18, 2024 • David Chadwick • Revelation 4

This week, we will continue our study of Revelation, specifically looking at chapter 4. John is lifted up in the spirit to get a “Glimpse of Glory.” John gets to see what is happening in heaven as God readies himself to pour out the Great Tribulation on sinful humanity. Chapter 4 is all about the throne of God and the worship that is taking place around it.

After This (The Rapture)

February 11, 2024 • David Chadwick • 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18, Revelation 4:1, John 14:1–6

After having finished Revelation 2-3 and the seven churches, we will take a break and study what's commonly called the Rapture. The message is titled “After This,” and we will cover the first two words in Revelation 4:1. More specifically, we will also examine 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 where this teaching is most clearly given. Paul said in verse 13 that he didn't want the Thessalonian Christians to be ignorant or agnostic about this teaching. Nor do I want this for you.

Jesus Loves His Church (Part 4)

February 4, 2024 • David Chadwick • Revelation 3:14–22

This week we will finalize the seven churches in Revelation by looking at Laodicea. It's the only church out of the seven where Jesus had nothing good to say! As we examine this church, let’s search our own hearts to see if we are exhibiting any of the same "lukewarm" behaviors that Jesus spoke against in the letter to Laodicea.

Jesus Loves His Church (Part 3)

January 28, 2024 • David Chadwick • Revelation 3:1–13

As we advance verse by verse through the book of Revelation, we have thus far covered four of the seven churches. Each one had a message from Jesus that relates to us today. This week we will look at two more churches in Revelation 3: Sardis and Philadelphia. Jesus wants both to be faithful no matter what the challenges.

Jesus Loves His Church (Part 2)

January 21, 2024 • David Chadwick • Revelation 2:12–29

In Revelation 2 and 3, Jesus speaks to seven churches in that day. What he appreciated. What he didn’t like. He gives instructions on how to respond to his words. Those seven churches represent all churches in all times. Therefore we can conclude much of what Jesus would say to the American church. This week, we will look at the next two churches: Pergamum and Thyatira.

Jesus Loves His Church (Part 1)

January 14, 2024 • David Chadwick • Revelation 2:1–11

This Sunday, we will continue our study of the book of Revelation. More specifically, we will study Revelation 2:1-11, and will look at the first two of the seven churches to which this letter was directed.
