The Power of Praise!

August 25, 2024 • David Chadwick • Revelation 19:1–10

This Sunday, we will have a glimpse of heaven (after all of the previous chapters and the judgments of God on this Earth). We have gone through the seven seal, trumpet, and bowl judgments from God, and the kings of the earth and their armies have gathered against Israel in the valley of Armageddon. Jesus is ready to return to earth in his power and glory.

In heaven, we see all the members of the church and the angels themselves praising God. On four different different occasions in Revelation 19:1-10, we see the word “Hallelujah” being used by these creatures toward God. The word means “praise God!”

The Invitation

October 27, 2024 • David Chadwick • Revelation 22:14–21

This week will focus on Revelation 22:14-21. These verses highlight the final words from Jesus and from the angel who has been revealing all of this to John. It offers insights into the attitude of the unbeliever to this book, and it provides a warning about trusting Jesus and being forgiven forever. It’s also a plea for Jesus’s followers (as we wait for his final coming) to continually cry out, “Come, Lord Jesus!” We should live every day being ready and excited about his return.

While We Wait

October 20, 2024 • David Chadwick • Revelation 22:6–13

This week we will look at Revelation 22:6-13. The angel that appears to John is giving final instructions to him on how people who love Jesus should live in light of the establishment of the new Jerusalem. We will examine such subjects as: trusting the word of God as being true, keeping the word of God, obeying the word of God, worshiping the Lord Jesus, witnessing for him, and also giving people warnings regarding the reality of Jesus’s return and holding all people accountable for how they have lived their lives.

The River of Life

October 13, 2024 • David Chadwick • Revelation 22:1–5

We are nearing the end of our verse-by-verse study of the book of Revelation. This week in Revelation 22:1-5, John has a deeper glimpse into the new Jerusalem. John gives us insights into the river of life that flows from Jesus’s throne. He also shows us a tree of life that exists in the middle of the river, that is able to give life to the nations. The curse of sin is forever gone. People will be serving Jesus in heaven. We’ll be able to see God, face-to-face, in a personal relationship with him forever. His name will be on our foreheads, thus showing our true identity is found only in him. There will be no night there, for Jesus will be our light. And we will reign and rule with Jesus forever and ever. It’s just astounding to think about! Again, English words don’t do it justice. I hope you will come away with a glorious hope for what’s awaiting those of us who believe in Jesus.
