This week we look at God's truth about family legacy and generational blessings. In Genesis 35, we will look at the blessings on Jacob's life and family when he finally yielded all to God. And, conversely, we will see the curses upon Esau's legacy in chapter 36. We all want to leave a legacy. Let's examine together God's way of doing so, for His glory alone.

Turning Evil for Good

We now approach Genesis https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=genesis+50&version=esv and Joseph's final interaction with his brothers. After Jacob dies, Joseph's brothers start to fear. Without dad alive, will Joseph finally take revenge? Will he persecute, perhaps even kill, us for what we have done to him? Joseph's response to his brothers' fears is amazing. It truly shows that he had forgiven them. He not only wished them and their families well, committing to provide for them all their lives (when you bless others who have hurt you, it's a sure sign you've forgiven them), but he pronounces great faith in God's overarching, absolute providence.
