Acts 1:8 When we come together and worship on a Sunday morning far more is happening than meets the eye. Sharing the Gospel is an essential part of any church, and it takes people who grasp that the Gospel is more than words. Caring for a broken world, meeting needs, and making life better for people follows in the footsteps of Jesus. Most people don’t want to know how much you care, they want to see how much you care because talk is cheap. Gather in with us Sunday as explore how you are essential in worship and locally/globally serving the needs of others.

Fellowship – Acts 2: 44-47 Growth – 2 Peter 3: 18 Relationships at Lakeside are at the core of who we are as a church. A healthy and growing relationship with God and one another makes for a balanced life. God has given gifts and abilities to the members of the local church in order to grow from within. You (the Lakesider) become essential in making Lakeside members flourish in their relationships with God and each other. Essential: Hospitality

Romans 12: 9-13 Andre Nouwen wrote “Hospitality means primarily the creation of free space where the stranger can enter and become a friend instead of an enemy. Hospitality is not to change people, but to offer them space where change can take place.” At Lakeside creating moments (space) for people to meet, become friends, find peace, and experience belonging is essential. People make it possible to create these moments (and spaces). When writing about the practical outworking of the Christian faith the Apostle Paul addressed sincerity. Intentional love that lifts others above self, and active hospitality. Join us as we explore Scripture together and pursue living authentic Christian lives.

Essential: The Next Generation

Psalm 78: 1-7 Is children and teen ministry just baby-sitting, and entertainment? Something to keep the kids occupied and out of trouble while the adults get on with spiritual stuff? It has been well said, “Kids aren’t the future; they’re here now!” At Lakeside we believe that our children are more than an abstract concept of the future. We believe they need to know that Jesus loves them now. We want to help teach the next generation how to make wise choices and treat others with kindness and respect. We acknowledge that kids are like sponges, they’re capable of far more than we give them credit for, and they are constantly learning. That means we have an incredible responsibility to share the love of God with them, and to help parents establish a solid and reasonable foundation of faith they can build upon for the rest of their lives. Come and find out more about this essential part of a church family and how all who influence our children are essential to what God is doing in the lives of children and teens.

Essential: An Introduction

Ephesians 4: 11-16 Tired of the smoke & mirrors, personality driven, and commercialized church? Contrary to popular belief church isn’t just for the extroverts and power-hungry spiritual elites, who seemingly have it all together. A large part of understanding the church is knowing that all kinds of people humbly come together, around something bigger, to experience God in worship. To live out His agenda, and to grow in relationship to one another. The church (Lakeside) has an incredible responsibility to be the body of Christ. To show the world who Jesus is, and serve together as believers. Join us as we unravel some mysteries in the coming weeks about how we actually 'do' church and why you matter in the middle of it all. Come and be a part of something different, grassroots, and maybe a bit more natural. Believe it or not – you are essential to what God is doing in Kirkland.
