Deeper: Creating Spiritual Discipline

July 23, 2017 • John Carrano

There are moments in our lives where we are afraid of what is out there, we are afraid of the unknown and end up staying where we are. Through the course of this series our challenge is to go deeper and not let fear keep us where we are. So join us in this series as we look at different spiritual disciplines and how to put them into practice in our lives. In this week's message Lead Pastor John Carrano kicks off the series with teaching on meditation.

Have you ever thought about the difference between obedience and submission? God offers His hand to us like a father to his son, but it takes biblical submission to engage in that journey with Him. . . . Reflection Question - Lord, am I recognising those to whom You want me to submit? Am I honouring them? Can people see my submission? Challenge - Let's apply biblical submission to all areas of our lives! Scripture - Matthew 20:25-28 - Philippians 2:3-8 - Ephesians 5:21 - Ephesians 6:5 - Ephesians 6:9 - Daniel 3:16-18

#8. Solitude and Silence

September 24, 2017 • Nick Seders

We live in a noisy world! Jesus had a rhythm of being in crowded places but also retreated from the masses to be on his own -see Luke 5:16- The practice of silence and solitude (although not technically spiritual disciplines) refresh us and give us an opportunity to focus on the only voice that matters, God's. In this week's message Nick Seders continues our series with teaching on solitude and silence. . . . Reflection Question - Quiet yourself and focus on the Lord. Let him speak through his Word, as you process this message. Challenge - Every day this week, retreat into solitude and silence for five minutes during your lunch break. Scripture - Luke 5:16 - Luke 4:1-14 - Psalm 42:7
