#8. Solitude and Silence

Deeper: Creating Spiritual Discipline

September 24, 2017 • Nick Seders

We live in a noisy world! Jesus had a rhythm of being in crowded places but also retreated from the masses to be on his own -see Luke 5:16- The practice of silence and solitude (although not technically spiritual disciplines) refresh us and give us an opportunity to focus on the only voice that matters, God's. In this week's message Nick Seders continues our series with teaching on solitude and silence.

#7. Fasting

September 10, 2017 • Susan Kennedy

In eras past the value of fasting was accepted, people knew how to do it and it was assumed that if you believed you fasted. Today, unfortunately thats not the case! Most of us don’t know how to go about a spiritual fast, and we're not sure why we should or even that we need too. But fasting places us in a position to receive God’s grace and allows us to go deeper. In this week's message Susan Kennedy continues our series with teaching on the spiritual discipline of fasting. . . . Reflection Questions - Does my heart long for a deeper relationship with God? - Do I take spiritual discipline personally and seriously? - Should fasting be a discipline that I practice? Challenge - Fast one meal a week for the rest of the month and use that time to focus on God. Scripture - John 4:24 - Hebrews 11:6 - Matthew 6:16-18
