On a Mission from God

August 25, 2019 • Peter Mueller

Sometimes God calls us to do things that might involve great risk and great sacrifice. Others around us might think we are crazy or irresponsible or that it can’t be God leading us. And yet, Paul knew that He followed a crucified Messiah and was willing to suffer as he worked to make the name of Jesus known. While there are many blessings for those who follow Christ, we are also called to risk and even suffer as we follow Jesus and make His name known.

Creation of the World and Humanity

August 4, 2019 • Peter Mueller

God created the earth good, but this goodness became marred through the fall into sin. Amidst the fallen world, humans, as the image-bearers of God, are called to cultivate this goodness as priests and kings in relationship with God, others, and creation. You and I have the great privilege of taking care of and managing the good world God made and to bring well-being to all of it through the moments of our lives.

Paul's Shipwreck

August 18, 2019 • Peter Mueller

Even when our lives are a shipwreck, God can make a way for His purposes to be fulfilled. Paul was called to preach to the Gentiles - as he on a journey to do so by sea, his ship was wrecked. Even in that, God made a a way for him to be imprisoned in the capital city of the Roman Empire - but even there, he was allowed to preach the good news of Jesus to anyone who would come and visit him. In the same way, God works even in the most disastrous moments of our lives. There is hope!

Hello, Trouble

Today's message begins our new sumer series “Beaches, Boats, and BBQs of the Bible”. We will again look at some of the most well know and deeply loved stories of the Bible throughout the summer, focusing particularly on those that have a “summery” theme or location such as beaches, boat, and bbqs. So often we think that God only works in the ethereal netherland of some super spiritualized reality, but He specializes in working in the every day moments of our lives. On this Father’s Day, our message kicks off this series by looking at the story of Elijah fighting the baal prophets on Mt. Carmel. Like many dads today, he is up against seemingly insurmountable and impossible odds. Elijah finds out what is available to each of us as well, whether we are a dad or not - that when we rely on the power of God, even the greatest barriers and enemies can be overcome as we trust in Him.

Following Noah in Walking with God

June 23, 2019 • Peter Mueller

Noah lived a remarkable life at the center of a planet changing event that is attested to by cultures all over the globe. His is the story of someone walking with God and being chosen by God to preserve, replant, and restart life on earth after God’s judgment on the wicked hearts of the people of his time. God invites us to walk in relationship with Him as Noah did so that He might also use us to renew broken people and the broken creation.MP: Even when people laugh or mock, obedience honors God and serves people and the whole creation.
