How can it be that we live in the most connected time in history, yet we are lonelier than ever before? The past few years have only deepened the loneliness crisis.
Cigna research from 2021 shows that loneliness has hit the younger generation harder than any other, with nearly 80% of adults aged 18–24 reporting feelings of loneliness—double that of seniors. This problem was heightened by the isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic, but even years later, many people remain disconnected.
