Pruning our lives can be extremely painful. But for our lives to flourish, sometimes we have to let go of the things that are keeping us from growing to our fullest potential, that keep us from bearing the best fruit. Jesus offers an invitation to prune our lives.

As the plant grows, it would be silly to keep it confined in the small container it was started in. Attempting to keep the plant cramped into such a small box would certainly lead to diminished growth, weakening the young shoot and crippling it from reaching its full potential, possibly even killing it altogether.Conversely, plant propagation is the process of creating new plants. What seems obvious as a gardener is not always obvious when it comes to the spiritual life. God desires for us to give out of the blessings God has given us, which include skills, abilities, family connections, social positions, education, experiences, and more. We are called to give of ourselves, so that the Kingdom of God expands and grows around us.
