Zoom Lens

January 21, 2024 • Randy Hageman • Luke 8:40–48

We tend to think about big moments, earth-shattering experiences, as where the most important things happen, because they’re often experienced by big crowds of people. But where is the real difference made – this study and the Bible suggest it’s one at a time. And how do we spot the one we’re positioned to help? Maybe, as we’ll see in today’s message, instead of focusing on the crowd, it’s time to use a zoom lens to see the one God has set before you!

The Power of AND

February 25, 2024 • Randy Hageman • Luke 7:11–15

Jesus focused on the one, but he didn’t stop there! He looked into that person’s life and had compassion for them. “Don’t get mad; get even!” It’s a tempting mantra, and we easily justify it. As good as it would feel to “get even,” is there something better? And if there’s a better way, do I care? Let’s consider the surprising words of Jesus from his most talked-about sermon, all about going the extra mile for people who don’t deserve it. This won’t be easy! But let’s walk a mile or two with Jesus and see where we end up.
