In then Through

January 28, 2024 • Randy Hageman • Matthew 13:3–8, Mark 1:33–39, John 5:19

As we pray that Jesus will reveal the one he wants us to help, how do we then discern from God how He wants us to help? In the Bible, we often see Jesus going off alone, to spend time with his Heavenly Father, so that he could get clear about what God wanted him to do. Jesus allowed God to work in him in order to discern what God wanted to do through him. Could that also be true for us? We’ll explore that idea in today’s message.

The Power of AND

February 25, 2024 • Randy Hageman • Luke 7:11–15

Jesus focused on the one, but he didn’t stop there! He looked into that person’s life and had compassion for them. But as we see in the Gospels, the “compassion” Jesus had was always followed by something more – “and”! Jesus had compassion, and he acted, as we’ll see in today’s message. Combined with the previous steps in this series, we see how God wants to use us to change the world, one person at a time!

February 18, 2024 • Susan Hageman • Matthew 4:23–25, Matthew 5, Romans 12:21, 1 John 3:16, Philippians 2:3–11

“Don’t get mad; get even!” It’s a tempting mantra, and we easily justify it. As good as it would feel to “get even,” is there something better? And if there’s a better way, do I care? Let’s consider the surprising words of Jesus from his most talked-about sermon, all about going the extra mile for people who don’t deserve it. This won’t be easy! But let’s walk a mile or two with Jesus and see where we end up.
