Jonah cried out to the Lord from the belly of a great fish in the depths of the sea acknowledging that,

“Salvation belongs to the LORD!” No matter how far we go, or where we try to hide, God is there. He works every circumstance for our good and his glory. What “big fish” in your life has God used for your sanctification?

God calls his prophet Jonah to bring a message to the great (wicked!) city of Nineveh, but Jonah disobeys. He flees the Lord’s presence and disaster follows. How often do we, like Jonah, ignore or run away from God’s plans for us because of our stubborn hearts? How has that worked out for us?
