Jonah has been angry and bitter from the beginning of this story, and he finally expresses it fully in this
last chapter. Can we identify with his anger? Do we see the evil and wicked world around us as undeserving of God’s mercy? How does God handle Jonah’s anger, and what does this reveal about his character?
Once again, God calls Jonah to go to Nineveh. This time, he obeys, bringing them a very brief, gloomy message of judgment. The Ninevites believe and repent, and God relents the disaster coming for them. God’s mercy is boundless and mysterious. Do our actions (obedience or disobedience) impact God’s plans?

Jonah cried out to the Lord from the belly of a great fish in the depths of the sea acknowledging that,

God calls his prophet Jonah to bring a message to the great (wicked!) city of Nineveh, but Jonah disobeys.
He flees the Lord’s presence and disaster follows.
How often do we, like Jonah, ignore or run away from God’s plans for us because of our stubborn hearts?
How has that worked out for us?
