Following the opening ceremony for the 2024 Olympics, I received several questions from parents and individuals asking how we talk about transgender issues. 1. Engage with compassion. Someone struggling with gender dysphoria needs our love, they are already hurting enough. 2. Build a relationship with the person so that you are both friends. 3. Share Jesus and the gospel message. Our identity is rooted in what God says about us, not what we feel or believe about ourselves. 4. To parents: We must talk about what is going on in culture with our children. We need to teach them to think critically and Biblically about cultural issues.

Stop believing in a god that does not exist

Stop believing in a God who protects us from bad things and promises us prosperity. One of the most dangerous enemies of the church is not outside the community but inside. Bad theology can destroy the church and cause individuals to forsake their faith in God. We all need to stop believing in made-up theology. In the Bible, God does not promise to protect us from harm; rather, he promises to be with us and guide us through "the valley of the shadow of death.

How do I know God loves me?

Can God ever stop loving me? Sometimes life beats us up and we feel like God does not care. Our feelings tell us that if God truly loved and wanted what is best for us then he would make our lives easier. This is not the picture of God that the Bible gives us. God did not come to make life easy for us. Jesus came to rescue us from sin. God's love cannot change and never will change because it is one of God's attributes. God is love.

Are the slavery laws in the Bible the nail in the coffin of Christianity? No. There are four important responses to the issue of slavery in the Bible. 1. How does someone know that slavery is wrong apart from objective morality stemming from God? 2. The laws of slavery in the Bible are a difficult and sensitive subject that we must acknowledge and speak to correctly. 3. There are evils that God permits and regulats, but not ordains as good. An example is Deuteronomy 21, the law about having two wives. 4. To disprove Christianity one would have to give evidence that: A) Jesus did not exist, B) Jesus did not claim to be God, C) Jesus did not rise from the dead.

Why does God allow babies to die of cancer? Great question... In this video, I attempt to address both the heart question and the head question for our listeners. There is no quick easy response but for the Christian worldview, our hope and response is in the historical reality of the resurrection of Jesus. While Jesus was on earth he took a similar question from John the Baptist who was near death in prison. Jesus basically said to John, "I am the Messiah, don't lose faith in me just because I don't do what you want, how you want it, when you want it." Will we get to heaven and know loved ones who have already died? Will there be some form of a memory wipe in heaven so that we don't remember anything bad that happened in life enabling us to be eternally happy? I believe that we will know everyone we have ever met and be able to love them more completely. There will be a day when there will be a great family reunion with Jesus and all our loved ones.
