Sound Doctrine = Sound Church

Serving Together

June 5, 2022 • Vlad Burlaka • Titus 3:12–15

We began this series because we believed there were four reasons why we needed the Epistle to Titus in this season of our church’s life: 1. We need affirmation that we are a sound church 2. We need to remember the importance of sound doctrine 3. We need help to cultivate more discipleship 4. We need to show good works in a bad world On this 16 week journey we learned how experiencing the Grace of God goes hand in hand with a healthy church, sound doctrine, and good works. In this concluding message we see 3 simple, but important final reminders before we put Titus back on the shelf. The goal is to summarize and solidify everything we have learned thus far. 1. The Church Is Made Up of People 2. The Church Is Made Up of People Who Serve 3. The Church is Made Up of People Who Serve & Are Sustained by Grace

The Good & The Bad

May 29, 2022 • Vlad Burlaka • Titus 3:8–11

With the glorious truth of the Gospel that Paul mentioned in 3:3-7, now he challenges Titus and those who are in Crete to grow in applying that truth, as well as protecting it from problematic people in the church. Two principles that a sound church should apply: 1. Cultivate the Profitable 2. Cut Out the Unprofitable

Adorning the Gospel at Work

April 24, 2022 • Vlad Burlaka • Titus 2:9–10

The average adult spends 8 hours working, 8 hours sleeping, and 8 hours allotted for free time. Generally speaking a third of your life is spent at work. It’d be a shame for this allocated time to not be used to put the Gospel on display. Titus 2:9-10 helps us live godly from 9-5, Monday through Friday. 1. The Who 2. The What 3. The Why

Under Control - (Younger Men)

April 10, 2022 • Vlad Burlaka • Titus 2:6–8

If we live in a world of boys masquerading as men, that results in spiritually weak men, weak churches, weak marriages, weak homes, and weak societies. Paul understood the vulnerability of younger men & the the significance of younger men in the church. Therefore he calls Titus to urge the younger men to act in a specific way for the glory of God. 1. The Exhortation (v.6) 2. The Example (v.7-8)

A Model to Follow - (Older Men)

March 20, 2022 • Vlad Burlaka • Titus 2:1–2

A sound church is to have sound elders, who teach sound doctrine. As a result, this ought to impact the Christian's life as they enter into that sphere of influence. Unlike the false doctrine of 1:10-16, the teaching of sound doctrine ought to produce these three things: 1. Sound Living 2. Sound Examples 3. Sound Older Men

Dirty Doctrine

March 13, 2022 • Titus 1:15–16

On Guard!

March 6, 2022 • Vlad Burlaka • Titus 1:9–14

If we were to make Titus 1:9-14 into a headline, it would read... “False Teachers on the Island of Crete are Hurting Families" That threat is just as relevant for the church today. Therefore, qualified elders are called to: 1. Help the Church Cherish the Word 2. Help Protect the Church from Wolves

Qualified - Part 2

February 20, 2022 • Vlad Burlaka • Titus 1:7–8

What words would someone use to describe you? A Neighbor, a co-worker, a parent, a spouse, a child, a church member, what do you think they’d say? Paul provides 11 words in Titus 1:7-8 that describe the character of a pastor in the church. Elders are to be examples of Christ to the flock. Members to be examples of Christ to the watching world. You as a steward are called to represent Jesus well. So what are some qualifications of an elder & how do these qualifications apply to all believers in the church? 1. Vices to Put Off 2. Virtues to Put On
