Joel's name means Jehovah is God
Joel was written around 835-800BC
Not much is known about Joel - He was a prophet to Judah - the Southern Kingdom
Joel's dad was Pethuel
Judah was in a time of prosperity and Safety, but were moving away from the Lord.
Joel is giving a warning vs1-5 - Judah to stay close to Jesus or His judgment will come.
VS1-5 - A call or warning from the Lord to turn the Jewish people back to the Lord
