Exodus 26

May 6, 2024 • Pastor Dan Sexton

The Bible is so rich in meaning, isn’t it? We can find so much application of the parables to our lives. That’s why it’s so important to read and reread scriptures. In today’s message, Pastor Dan will encourage you by teaching you about how your sin is covered by Jesus. You are just like the prodigal son who ran away from the Father and was covered in the filth of your sin. However, the Father has welcomed you back, because He loves you so much, and He has covered your sins with the blood of Jesus.

Ministry is defined as the spiritual work or service of Christians. That being said, what do you think is the highest form of ministry? Could it be serving people in a soup kitchen, or going on a missions trip to a third-world country? While those are good and worthwhile ministries, they aren’t the highest form according to Pastor Dan. In today’s message, he proposes prayer is the highest ministry for a follower of Christ to participate in. Prayer is the only thing the disciples asked Jesus to teach them.

If you’ve ever tried to start a new workout plan or change the way you eat, you know it’s not a one-time decision, you have to make a consistent effort. Eating healthy and working out one day is a good start but won’t really make a difference. As Pastor Dan reminds you in today’s message, following Jesus is the same way. You have to decide to follow Jesus daily! You have to decide to be the “burnt offering” every day, not once a week or a year. That creates a pattern of sacrificing for the Lord.

Have you ever had someone do something for you completely unsolicited? You may have had someone pay for your meal unexpectedly, or buy you a gift for no particular reason. When there is no expectation of repayment or reward of any kind, that can turn a bad day around in an instant. In today’s message, Pastor Dan explains how when you willingly submit to God and follow Him because you actually want to, not because you feel like it is required, is like a sweet aroma to Him.
